After DRM and Self-Publishing Policies Flip Xbox One Needs Price Drop to Compete With PS4?

Microsoft has already gone back on two of their major decisions (policies) related to Xbox One, first one is Always-Online DRM and the other one is self-publishing rights to indie developers. Here is the list of other things (including "reducing price tag of Xbox One") Microsoft should consider going back on to even the battleground against Sony's PS4.

Not with Kinect in the box (which i want). So your answer for me is no. I used to buy an ipad/iphone every year... I know, I know ive stopped but just saying. People are used to shelling out cash for elctronics. If the x1 is around for 8 years that is an absolute steal because I would value this over my ipad a million times over.

Also the price of the kinect is important to me because I want to know how much tech money was left in the device and how much was used for kinect. whether or not I want kinect, and for now I do not, I want the best gaming machine, not camera.

It just needs to appeal to the core gamer, because causal or uniformed people who play games aren't usually going to preorder a console and line up to support you day one. They've been all over the place, when they just need to focus on the core gamers. Look how that turned out for Sony (read: Fantastic). Most welcomed the system with open arms, and the preorders showed that. MS on the other hand tried to f*ck with us, and now have to try harder to win most core gamers over (who already preordered a PS4). But they're off to a good start. Like I said before, they can aim for the core gamer, or aim for the casuals, and we will respond accordingly.

The new Kinect is not going to make you stand up and flail around your body. Microsoft said they are going to leave the Kinect functionality to the developers. Voice in AAA games doesn't need Kinect. You do realize the same can be achieved via microphone in a headset right? You don't need a Kinect sensor or all that goes with it.

It's not cool to dismiss the real problems with Kinect. Some people are tired of reality being shown to them. They just want to put their heads into the sand. $100 more for this device along with weaker specs is very hard to justify in a great depression.

If, and this next part is the ONLY part that is speculative, is IF they need to downclock the Xbox One, and IF their asinine rush to market results in a rash of broken consoles, then they will have a major problem on their hands.

I loved my 360, other than all the technical problems, but their asinine position of allowing myself to be spied on and exploited it too far. So they've lost $2,000-3,000 from me, when you consider the console, no xbox live, and well over $10 fee they collect for the over 100 360 games I have.

They won't get that from me, or anyone else that understands reality trumps gaming every time. Spying is the reality, and the Kinect2 is the holy grail. They do not value privacy and their slogan is an outright lie. They just want you to THINK they do. Well I don't fall for perception games. If they want to say 'your privacy is our priority', then perhaps they shouldn't of sold my privacy down the river for at least 18 years. Perhaps they shouldn't of allowed their products to be one Edward Snowden keystroke away from some corporation's low level employee.

Because all these hacks need is your email address, or IP address, and they can get everything you've ever down connected to that account. Your email. Your word documents, etc. They have backdoors in their OS. They kept fixes of security flaws off the market so gov't/corporations could exploit them (and you).

Just think what all could be gleamed through such a search method, by non-gov't employees mind you. Just think how many criminals can have access to your data. Not to mention our gov't.
