The Wonderful 101's Download Will Grab Over 10GB of Precious Hard Drive Space

While Pikmin 3 is all the rage on the Wii U in Europe right now, with North America soon to follow, PlatinumGames will be bringing its own brand of anarchic action and real-time strategy to the system with The Wonderful 101; it arrives in Europe on 23rd August and the U.S. on 15th September. For those looking to pick up the download version from the Wii U eShop, it may be time to consider an external hard drive, as the European download comes in at a little over 10.2GB.

Precious harddrive space? I just got a 1.5tb external drive for my Wii U. I could download this game over 130 times! bah

I actually prefer Nintendo's approach to storage. Let us, the consumers decide on how much or little space we need instead of a platform maker including one with some absurdly high mark up... or worse like Microsoft using proprietary storage.

Vita's memory system would be fine were it not for the price. Especially when compared to the competition:

A real shame too. When it comes to handhelds I believe digital is the way to go and that card is the main thing putting me off the vita :(

i'm not passing judgement, all i'm saying is that the Vita uses proprietary memory like Microsoft. that's a fact. not sure how people could disagree with it.

I have to admit I agree. Pretty sure SDHC cards are also compatible (up to 32gb so hard drives are obviously the better option).

My only annoyance is that I want a black Wii U with 8gb for the cheaper price and get a 750gb-1.5tb hard drive. Dirt will eventually get into the white one... And it would look ugly next to my collection of black devices.

Actually, dirt and smudges are less noticeable on the white Wii U than they are on the black Wii U. I know this by experience, I've had both. :P

As for it looking ugly next to your other black devices, well, yeah, that's of course a matter of taste. I actually don't care about matching my consoles, so I have now a white Wii U, red PS3 and silver Ouya, and will get a black PS4 sometime in the future. XD

I know it sounds silly XD. But sometimes you really appreciate something looking good on your desk or wherever :)

How well do games run off an external hard drive though? This was one of my fears before the Wii U came out, and I haven't really researched any test results since then (have there even been any full retail games released digitally yet?).

I'm genuinely asking, not trying to start anything.

I haven't noticed a difference between the two. In game there is no difference...could possibly be a load time difference, but it's so minimal to me that it isn't perceptible.
