The 360 is the best selling console in the USA for 30 months straight, The Xbox One is coming out with some very impressive games and Kinect has been a hit this gen, this time its packed with a new and improved Kinect.

This is the minimum that anybody should be expecting. Dont forget guys, you believe your own negative trolling. But thats only you. If you spend all day long telling creating negative hype, and spending all day long with people (i.e hardcore to the bone ride or die Sony fanb*ys) just like you and the end of the day you have a completely false vision of reality.

You lost me at Kinect has been a hit this gen. It didn`t sell bad, but most of the sales where from the first year and after that the decline was steep with 18 million from end of 2010 till end of 2011 and they reached this year 24 million. That means between end of 2011 and now (the time when everybody knew it`s not what MS was promising before launch and that it sucks for games) they sold 6 million. The initial first year I would say was a success yes, but the time after that it wasn`t sales wise and we all know how poor 99.9% of Kinect games work.

X1 is going to sell, (so will ps4) I don't know for sure which will have more at launch, ps4 will do a bit better worldwide this gen I think it will be close overall though. Eh no we still even have lots of Day One Editions left right now. Current preorders on PS4 5200, Xbox One 1600 and total Wii U sales to date on all 3 skus, around 3000. So yes there are currently more PS4 preorders on Wii U sales to date.

Sure..............The Gamestop i last worked in had a max for 1500 SKU for each launch system. My friend whom works there says PS4 pre-orders is Full and people still coming in to sign up for future pre-orders, though Xbox one is also full but the time scale is way way behind the PS4.

Still think PS4 will outsell Xbox one world wide but the xbox one will definitely sell better than Wii u and will sell good.

It's all subjective. What one sees as positive or negative on either console, others might see differently. There seems to be this common fallacy on here that whatever one person thinks in terms of which console is "better" or which company is more trustworthy, then it is truth and not debatable...but only if chose ps4 and Sony. If chose xvox, then you obviously don't know what your talking about, and you're an idiot. The amount of bias in Sony's favor on this site is so thick, you can cut it with a knife - forget that, you need a chainsaw to cut through it.

First off, unless you are a lawyer or some type of expert in the realm of consumer rights, or at least can source what exactly those rights are, from an actual legal standpoint, not paraphrased by some gaming forum user, I would suggest not going down the consumer rights path. And be careful - consumer rights with video games/software can differ from consumer rights with other products. I would also suggest you fully understand what MS's initial goal actually was, rather than misinterpret it into what you think it means.

It appears whenever "DRM" or "always online" is brought up in the gaming realm, everyone is suddenly an expert on rights, usually based on nothing more than how they think they should be. Is it unethical to enforce these practices? Perhaps. Is it unlawful? that's an entirely different argument.

Second, "calling out people," as you put it, is bullying, at least in the context I see repeated here on this site, and here is why. Whenever this topic comes up, and someone mentions they are okay with MS's polices, rarely or ever is it met with objective, unbiased resistance. Instead of breaking down and explaining what exactly their polices are and how it effects the player, in an informative, calm way, it is met with treating the person like a criminal rather than a victim, usually in the form of name calling, and sometimes it can get extreme, like the person just said they are okay with pedophilia and rape.

The other aspect that fuels this argument, is the communities response to such behavior. Go on a rant about how the xbox sucks, MS is the devil, and xbx fanboys are sheep, and you are in a good position to earn much more agrees than disagrees on your post. Go out and write an objective, informative post about the features and/or the initial vision of the MS's upcoming console (which tends to have positives along with eh negatives) and you will likely be booed with more disagrees than agrees, and the same thing goes for the majority of posts that show any sort of approval or excitement for the X1 - this is a mob rule bullying mentality. It shows negative reinforcement for sharing a particular viewpoint and positive reinforcement to essentially be a dick and harass those that don't share your vision.

So yes, it is bullying, since "calling people out," tends to be synonymous with "pointing fingers and laughing at the idiot who wants to buy an xbox." MS's initial policies shared a lot in common with Steam, and Steam overall is well liked on PC - are all those people morons? Are they all naive sheep for having their consumer rights taken away?

And finally, since we're on the topic of consumer rights, there's a term I keep seeing when mention the X1, and that term is "anti-consumer." This is a nonsensical term. Products are not anti-consumer. There ar good and bad products. Products that are more favorable or better built than others, but that does not denote anything being "anti-consumer."

A product that is anti-consumer, would be a product with the intentional and deliberate purpose of harassing, harming or frustrating the consumer. In terms of the X1, it would mean that everything everyone was against - the used game policy, the always online the DRM, etc. was done for the deliberate purpose or making the consumer's experience more troublesome and less enjoyable. It a 2 part system - it would have tho have negative features, and those negative features would have to implemented for a specific reason.

First both PS4 and XB1 are doing very well in preorders, and many people are getting both. Just because XB1 is doing well does not mean PS4 isn't, and vice versa.

Microsoft is a study in the art of being unable to stay out of your own way. There will ALWAYS be room for another console that is not named playstation due to the sheer fact that people by nature do not like to conform to just one thing. There are literally those out there that see the popularity of the playstation brand and consider it a turn-off. Does it make them wrong? right? who knows but at the end of the day we are all entitled to make the choices we make for whatever reason we make them. This is a dynamic that MS fails to see because they are looking in the wrong place for success in this industry. But where you see this as a detriment, others can see it differently, like perhaps commending then from trying to stray from the ordinary and try different things. I am saying this is my opinion, I am only using it as an example.

There is something I have noticed though - that if you take each company - MS and Sony, and compare their consoles to video games, Xbox would be more of a new IP in each iteration, whereas PS is more of a sequel. Xbox always seems to try new things, whether they failed or not. They try to innovate or change the things, from XBL, to their "blades" dashboard, to kinect, to an included HDD, and more. Also, each version of the console had substantial changes, both in features and design, although the X1 does kinda resemble the original xbox.

The PS however, just seemed to give more of the same, will a little extra every time, like sequels tend to do. There was never any drastic change or risk taking - they always seemed to play it safe. Not to say this is a bad thing, it obviously worked for them, but it does seem to be their formula nonetheless. Aside from the original PS, even their design is similar - PS2, PS3, and PS4, all resemble each other. Even the names of MS's and Sony's console suggest the comparison - Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One - each a unique name. PS, PS2 PS3, PS4 - simply the same thing with a number added, like a sequel.

Now I'm not gonna sit here and pretend MS is godlike and Sony is shit - they are both huge entities in the gaming world, and each have a huge following, but as far as innovation goes, or at least taking chances/risks, MS is the clear winner.

Now I understand that many gamers don't want innovation - they want a game console. They don't want bells and whistles, they just want to play games and do game related things and that's fine. My purpose in writing this post isn't to convince you that xbox is better than PS, but rather to show you that a company that chooses to "radically" change isn't necessarily bad, and saying those changes are "for the worst" is purely subjective.

My friend is a manager at the Greenwich village store kinda of different story; Both consoles are sold out but the time frame for the xbox one is way way longer than the PS4. btw each store has a maximum of 1500 sku for each launch day console. Still i think the early day's of the next gen consoles PS4 will sell more but after we see some price drops and great exclusives which "Stay" on the console i'm sure the console will gain more momentum and sell more but, as for now PS4 i killing with pre-orders.

I asked the day after E3, and they gave me exact numbers on allocation. I didn't really ask for them, just wondered how people responded to E3. Since they were sold out of both, it was easy to figure out how many they had of both. I'm a pretty regular customer, and they know me by name and we talk about a lot of stuff.

That's when I learned of the disparity in allocation. After that I didn't care, as it's not really that big a deal either way. I'll enjoy my PS4 when it comes out along with at least 15 others that filled up that particular stores day one pre-order allotment. The same way those 8 people that managed to secure their X1 day one pre-order will enjoy their new Xbox. And all the others who are getting their console from other outlets.

Thing is, back in those days, the complaining was never as rampant. It wasn't until right before this gen that the internet really exploded and every troll in existence found a place to aggravate others on a daily basis.

Things have just been exacerbated since the internet. The fan boy wars tended to be a lot more civil 10+ years ago, and the relative few who were as bad as they are on the net today were easy enough to ignore because they didn't have the power to hijack a conversation like they do now.

PS4 is leading pretty much everywhere. Look at Amazon US. Both launch additions have sold out, but PS4 is third and X1 is sixth. That shows that they had more PS4s. What may be right in your town could be different in another. These reports tend to be accurate, but only when you are living in a top state such as CA, NY, FL...etc, but they always leave out the others. I'm sure Sony has the highest numbers just about everywhere given the bashing Microsoft got, but MS is proving their console at these conventions which are getting better reviews from people who actually have played the One. Gamescom is next, so we will see how MS will ease the One's hatred from people. Sony will need to bring the games this time other than what they have been showing, but I think things will be a bit better than E3 for MS this time. I work at Toys R Us, and we sold out of Xbox Ones while there were PS4 tags still hanging. I also have been hearing more people asking about the Xbox One so far. We were told just to pull the PS4 orders down since we wasn't taking any anymore. I know the Xbox One will sell; it will be sort of like the Wii U in that many people will judge it without having never played it because everyone else bad mouth it or some bad rep it got before. Thank goodness I'm getting both; it'll keep me out of the stupid argument between MS and Sony fans. I love games, so I'll be enjoying just that with both without debating about what is better. I think once people are playing the One then we will start to see a jump in sales. Will it be higher than Sony's? Who knows, but this is planet Earth which means things are forever changing. Xbox One has enough for me to buy as well as the PS4, so I'm going to have both and I might get a Wii U if I ever play one... well, hopefully.

One thing about working at the store will be me working and grabbing the boxes off the trucks that holds both Xbox One and PS4 and then putting my consoles aside until I get off my shift; it beats standing in line with questionable people. I just pray that nobody will start shooting like what happend at some of the PS3 launches. We don't need that type of BS ruining our console launch excitement.

Erm. You are a bit slow? Sony has had such a huge amount of preorders they can no longer guarantee first shipment to anyone who has ordered after the 5th July. Do a little search on the internet. That would be why your place of work has stopped taking preorders. As many retailers simply won't allow a preorder and then have a posses off customer who doesn't get a console launch day. Some places will still take a preorder but will only take one under the understanding that it may not be until after second shipment. This is a worldwide thing.

The hardcore Xbox fans are going to get the X1, but $500 vs $400 is going to reduce sales of the X1 for a LOT of people until a serious price drop.

People talk about mind share of the Xbox doing great in the US, and that will = great sales for the X1. What they forget is the PS2 destroyed the first Xbox for mindshare in the US, but the price difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360 squashed that momentum and mind share quickly.

Sorry. $$$ is one of the biggest factors for purchasing consoles. And when the X1 drops it's price to $450, the PS4 will be $350. When the X1 is finally $400, the PS4 will be $300, which is usually when the mass market starts buying this stuff. We're talking moms and dads buying this for their kids for Christmas and that kind of thing. A $500 pricetag is for the most serious gamers for the most part. It's this high pricetag that hurt PS3 sales and took away their momentum. The same will happen with the X1 unless they drop the price right now to $400 and take a serious loss on each console because of the cost of Kinect 2.

Price didn't stop the PS3 from selling comparatively well with the 360, did it? Even launching a year later without games and at price of $599-$699. The XB1 is is $100 dollars more than the PS4 but it offers a lot more functionality and a superior online as well as better games. This easily justifies the extra $100 dollars.

I work at EB/ Gamestop sales are NOT through the roof. We had more Wii U preorders then xbox ones, our allocations are 30 per store and as a district we are NOT even close to selling out. Our stores average 4 to 1 for ps4 in Canada. My store has 215 ps4 and only 37 xbox one preorder and our stores easily average over 150+er store.

This is PR bs! People who think that xbox one are doing well are mistaken, don't take 'selling out' of small allocations as through the roof. I can tell you my store sold out of xbox one, but, first it took extremely long and second we ONLY had 30 whereas ps4 we are sold out of day one units, but, after at 180 or so. Also we get new ps4 preorders regardless of being cutoff and telling customers about not getting their units on day one. Some people foolishly think all xbox 360 owners are going back with the same, that isn't true there are lots of people going with ps4 and taking all their friends with them.
