Following last week’s batch of images, Sony has released four more screenshots of inFAMOUS: Second Son, coming to PlayStation 4 in the first quarter of 2014.

Infamous Second Son is going to Ionic Drain everything. Suckerpunch is one of the most underrated dev teams out there. I'm happy they're gonna finally have their time to shine.

Wow. This game looks absolutely amazing. Here is another great exclusive for the PS4. Here the developers don't have to worry about multi console release and thus can avoid the lowest common denominator(xbone) factor and thereby take full advantage of the power on tap from the PS4. Awesome , awesome, oh and did I mention awesome?

And here's the kicker:

Up until the official PS4 reveal a few months ago in February, devs thought the PS4 was only going to have 4 GB of GDDR5 RAM. Even 1st party devs thought the PS4 was only going to have 4 GB of RAM. In other words, these games we're seeing were built with target specs of 4 GB of RAM, but now the actual system has double that.

Let that sink in.

Imagine what games built from the ground up for ~8 GBs of RAM will look like...

you can have 60GB of Ram and it changes nothing cause graphic fidelity all depends on the power of the GPU which is almost a AMD HD7850 so that's the limit of the PS4.

the extra ram will help on world size, A.I. complexity, on screen characters, etc..

The Ps3 suffered cause it had way too little ram but Devs got the most out of it.

The PS4 has a ton of ram but not all 8GB will be for gaming with 1GB dedicated to O.S.. so far 7GB is for Gaming but that may change as the PS4 will be tasked to do other things at the same time like recording gameplay which may take up more Ram from gaming.

The recording featured is a background function that is being controlled by a secondary chip that does not task the Ram.

Everyone forgets that the secondary background chip exists and that it's a 4 core chip that will handle everything non game related in the background.

So zero impact on the Ram from that stuff.

Genji was the only launch title that resembles Infamous in some form.

Both games are exclusive to its next gen predecessors. Its obvious Infamous looks 10x as better then Genji for a launch title so I'll say the leap is much bigger.

What open world game looks better than that on PC? There's Sleeping Dogs and it looks good but not THAT good. Not only I understand the technology behind games but also I have perfect visual senses, so I insist on my comment above. The level of detail, shaders, polygonal details of the characters and the environment is superb for an open world game.

Sure they could be upscaled, but judging by the quality of the anti-aliasing, I'm pretty sure they aren't.

Thus, they really are "supersampled bullshots".

The textures and polygons are the same as they'll be in the game, but the game isn't going to run at 6K and there's going to be some jaggies. Let's be realistic about it.

because the screens are rendered at 4k and we all know that inFamous SS will run at 4k, right? Another thing is, there are no games without jaggies and when downsampled the jaggies are gone.

Allright, but what does it have to do with all the other details EXCEPT the resolution? When you call something "bullshot", it means you don't believe the authenticity of what you see, which can apply to the resolution in this case but everything else in those screens are not altered, nor do they depend on the resolution.

It'll run at 1080p, sure. But how about the gorgeous looking skin/clothing shaders, volumetric fog/smoke effects that react to light sources, or how about reactive soft shadows cast by every single object on the map (including leaves) and real-time reflections, along with tessleated assets and global illumination? Are those "bullsh#t" as well?

The final game may or may not look jaggier than this, but everything else you see is real. How do I know? Because it's one of the FEW next-gen games from the bunch that they showed "actual" in-game footage: http://goo.gl/dnGYU

This is the most gorgeous looking next-gen game so far and we've only seen a small, early slice. The detail, the animation, the art style - all fantastic. The game's not even out until early next year, so it can look even better.

I don't know why PC-only gamers feel the threat so much. If you have a custom built PC with all the latest hardware standards, of course you can run your games with more detail, at a higher resolution and with more effects. It doesn't change the fact that the majority of PC gamers have nowhere near these specs. And it doesn't change how gorgeous this game looks.
