Dealspwn writes: When Dead Rising 3 debuted at E3 we were of the opinion it was a bit on the brown and ugly side. And it still is. But thanks to this latest dev diary we're a little bit more optimistic as we get to see lots of different ways to dismember the undead masses and a few glimpses of humour along the way.
Dual-wielding triple barrel machine guns, nail guns, axes, exploding baseballs and more will be at your disposable. Taping together ridiculous combinations of items will also once again be actively encouraged. You'll also get a better look at some of the different zombie classes you'll come up against. Charging football jocks, trigger happy cops and inmates. All fairly vulnerable to a chainsaw to the guts it would seem though. A luchadore outfit dresses you for the occassion of wrestling zombies in the ring too, just in-case you were thinking the series was looking a bit 'normal.' There'll have to be a severe financial incentive involved to get us to fight them dressed in a banana hammock though.
The Dead Rising series has enjoyed a long and storied history over the years, but which game in the series is best?
Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.
Interesting timing. This retrospective was released just a few days ago: https://youtu.be/Et-cKSrWuc...
They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.
This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.
VGChartz's Patrick Day-Childs: "2020 is upon us! The past decade has had some downs, like the influx of monetisation within full games, Blizzard's community backlash and EA winning the worst company in America award twice, but also some ups, like the leaps in understanding gaming from more mainstream companies to wholesome news like gamers helping preserve a controller signed by someone’s deceased mum.
The decade has also been the highlight of some… bizarre news, and I decided collect together some of the more obscure and quirky stories to make you giggle or question what the hell happened this decade."
I'm going to have so much fun in this game
