It doesn't take much thought to realise the advantages of owning Virtual Console games as opposed to tracking down the original cartridge releases from car boot sales and eBay. If anything it frees up our living room from all those consoles, controllers and wires which used to once dominate. However are we getting a good deal? Is it better value for money to track down the original carts of games we used to play back in the days rather than cough up for downloads from the Wii Shop?
Nintendo has announced the SNES and Super Famicom games gracing the Nintendo Switch Online library this month, and there are some gems to enjoy.
Strange headline, as I thought the star of the show was Super RType. I almost bought RType Dimensions EX this last month and was just thinking, man I wish we had the SNES one somewhere on Switch. That's where I got my start w the series and I was beyond excited to see it drop this week!
Following the Wii U and 3DS servers being taken offline, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Ghosts are officially dead.
Call of Duty players are jumping into Black Ops 2 for the final time before its Wii U servers go offline for good.
I can tell you right now that it's a good value. Most old NEC PC Engine Duo games go for major buxs on ebay and at local shoppes.
While downloading is way more convenient, I personally prefer to own the "physical" version of any game or music.
I think they charge too much, and are simply profiteering from back catalogue releases
I archive all games for all systems, and have all the VC titles already playing perfectly via emulators on my PC. I'd happily pay a resonable price for such an old game that has had no new development time, but at these prices I'll just play them on my PC.
No.
Mario 1
MArio 3
Original Zelda
Ocarina of time
Streets OF Rage
Sonic 1
...etc
I hate the fact these games are stuck to the actual hardware. I've gotten my Wii RMAed 2 times for faulty GPU card.
I'm building a MAME machine with these Emulator, and I have all the Roms.
MAME
NES]SNES
N64
Sega Genesis/32X/CD
PC-Engine
Dreamcst
To me, VC games are too much money will little to No upgrade. MY MAME machine will run circles around it.
