PS4 will support PS3 wireless headsets

The upcoming PlayStation 4 console will support previous generation PlayStation 3 wireless headsets, Sony confirmed to Polygon.

I had 2 xboxes only for 5 years and then I got smart and got a PS3. Even then, when all I played was xbox, I was always secretly jealous of the PS3. The only problem is I was pissed at the expensive price. Even when it launched, the lineup was way better than the 360s. I remember wanting a PS3 just to play Resistance because it was an old school shooter, unlike Halo with its 2 gun limit :( The 360 had slightly upgraded Xbox 1 games and none of them were good. Their best game was COD 2 and that was a port. So I really don't see why people say PS3 was a disaster. It still sold out, and still outsold the 360 every year so where exactly is the failure?

Both headsets are great, the pulse elite is a better quality headset. The old pulse has better battery life though.

Great news for potential PS4 owners. Darn, I wish the Xbox One can have the same capability. That is the one thing that really bugged the heck out of me about the XB1; hopefully MS will go through with their proposed adapter; otherwise, MY wireless Astro A50 will be reserved only for my future PS4.

If you're an audiophile like a hardcore one then not even the astro a50's are good let alone these Sony ones. But yeah the one before the Pulse came out was good and that's the one I have. For it's price it's really good, it's really comfortable, the microphone audio quality is great. I'm sure the Pulse would be better than that if not the same.

I feel sorry for the xbone players that want mic teamwork in BF4 etc (I used to be a 360 player until it died), they will have to hear all that background noise from the kinect, things like screaming kids, mom yelling at them, game sounds from the tv, family sounds, people talking to themselves but somehow they can't hear you, etc...
I am worried that my turtle beach x12's with the dss2 won't work with the ps4 though :(. What wired headset do you recommend for ps4 if it won't work, and does the new ps4 controller recharge while you play or at least not go dead if it's plugged in with usb?

In my opinion, yes. More features, better build quality, can be updated for specific game presets, wireless, built in mic (no boom), and you can use them with your phone or other devices too.

Quite certain the Pulse Elite Manager ( P.E.M. ) app will recieve an update once PS4 is released.

Also expecting Sony will add a couple more audio preset modes for the PS4.
