How Diablo 3 could be better on Xbox 360 than PC | OXM UK

OXM UK: "A fair few people started up Diablo 3 on their PCs last year, looked at the reduced length of the hotbar, and thought:'"That's it, then. They've dumbed it down. It must be coming out on consoles. This is the beginning of the end. I'm going to vlog furiously about this, the second I've played it for 90 hours.' Of course, no-one admitted anything to this effect at Blizzard. But I've been itching to see how Diablo would function on a gamepad since then, and I'm chuffed to report (after a limited but enlightening session) that it works just fine. Different, yes. But perfectly fine."

I'm sure that D3 will look and play great on 360 but I am holding out for the PS4 version. PS4/Killzone combo already preordered.

Or don't get it at all. The version doesn't matter, it was a bad PC game, and a bad RPG. It spat on everything Diablo 2 made great. Save yourself $60, they're just trying to recoup losses after PC gamers abandoned them because of how they were treated.

Diablo 3 sold 10 million copies (not sure if that includes digital copies). If they didnt make profit from that then something is fundamentally wrong.

Recoup losses?

As said above, the game sold REALLY well and it's not even mentioned the mountains of dirty money made through the RMAH, which was the fatality on the expected and standard franchise quality.

It may be by far the worst Diablo (we're seen a lot of dumbed destroyed franchises lately), but to say that it lead to losses is pure denial.

FanboyCrusher3934d ago

For those of you saying it sold well, take into account it's development time, and Blizzards increasingly disastrous financial problems. They need money, especially when Diablo 3 was what? 12 years in the making? Now count in people who got discounts, I'm guessing a lot of those were picked up on Steam sales. I'm just saying, they didn't get very far past the profit line as much as you guys think they did.

So it's the game is easier because rare lots are easier to find on console version? That's an odd reason

Wont bother with D3 until expansion releases. Not even going to consider playing it until then and I even have a copy of the game thats how much I feel about D3 or blizzard atm.

I'm excited. It's been a long long time since I've been a PC gamer so I never actually played Diablo 3. Everyone keeps telling me it sucks and to not bother. I'm still going to buy it. Do I think it will be 1.07 (I think?) Diablo 2 pre LoD? (In my book this was the best Diablo experience ever, minus the resolution) No, but it will still be fun. I preferred the psx version of the first Diablo to the pc one. Couch co-op looks perfect for this game. If I had my way there would be a vita port as this is very much a game I want to take everywhere.

That targeting and movement sounds disgusting, but I guess if you aren't use to the original gameplay not much will be missed.

Taking away the auction house is an amazing decision, I wish Blizzard allowed a separate character league on PC that had an increase in loot and took away the auction house.

ZeroX98763934d ago

the auction house is the main problem on PC. didn't need one in the first place. I tried not using it, but when all your friends are using it and got amazing build when your lagging behind, well you don't really have a choice to keep up.

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein84d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

shinoff218384d ago

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Palitera393d ago

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33392d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
