Wargame: AirLand Battle | Review - "Complex, deep, engaging" (Kaboom Shark)

"Wargame: AirLand Battle is not for the faint of heart. The game, developed by Eugen Systems and published by Focus Home Interactive, is the followup to Wargame: European Escalation and features a mind blowing number of units, approximately 800. Battles are fast-moving and can swing wildly from wins to losses if you don’t pay attention. That’s not even mentioning just how difficult this game is. On one mission, I spent over an hour and a half struggling to make headway against my opponent. Every time I would capture a zone, the computer would push back. Once, I whittled the AI down to one capture point, but I made a crucial mistake and soon found myself on the losing side of the battle. I lost. And it was a tutorial." Bad editing, remove.com from title and summery.

Hoped I'd find a mix of modern total war and crusader kings/EU. Doesn't seem to be quite there, but here's hoping we see a sequel, a larger map, and a better name :).

This is the sequel!

First game was better though, all units are unlocked which makes you feel like you have nothing to work towards.

Gets boring very quickly imo
