what is this author talking about? 1st true step? the 1st step has already begun long ago with remote play! Remote Play is the name and cloud gaming is the thing! but instead of a huge cloud shared by many gamers, your own PS3 is the cloud just for you.

Well microsoft created a fantasy named "Cloud will increase 4 times the power of the Xbox".

Sony tells us right, they don't lie, background downloading during any activity on the console, doesn't seem impossible.

Just because. I've been reading blog,articles,and stuff everywhere. It will in fact give more performance here in there. Minor calculations, that doesn't need to be calculated in real time. Like weather effects and lighting.Nothing can even remotely be consired to give more 400%(or is 200% ?) of performance. Nothing that can actually surpassed the Ps4.

Being as plenty of devs have stated there is a direct benefit from this cloud Micro touts means more to me than any article. If devs as recently as CD Projekt Red state there is a benefit then it means something is there. It will only get better as the gen progresses and devs get more and more familiar and find new ways to exploit it.

I think it is funny that MS said they couldn't do this very same thing without the mandatory check-ins and DRM they had planned. I wonder if they will backtrack and allow it now that Sony has, once again, one-upped them.

STEAM has been doing this on the PC since day one. (read- 10 years ago!!!!) So Microsoft saying they can't do it with a disc based system is just crazy talk.

The Xbox 360 already lets you play your digital library on other consoles. Am I missing something here.

As does Steam. So why did Sony even have to state this feature/abilty. It seems that purchased digital content on any platform not named Nintendo can be played on any console you are signed in on. I think some people believe that purchased disc bought in retail stores will be playable the same way, which is NOT what Sony had stated. You will still need to bring the disc with you. No difference between Xbox 1 ond PS4 in this regard.

yes, the difference is that with PS4 you wont have to wait so long for it to completely download. You click and play.

Not only do I agree, but Gaikai isn't limited to streaming games, it can also do cloud computing as well. And if you think otherwise then you truly have no clue how clouds even work.

that would be the ultimate if you owned the game for life once you purchased it. Also being in a cloud it should be easier than ever to play on different consoles and transcend generations of consoles.
