Um site portugues ?

" it is not difficult to reach the conclusion that this announced increase of 4X is one of the biggest PR blunders ever."

See cloud doesn't give you more performance.Just more small calculations, no more performance, no more distance view.

That's juts Microsoft finding an excuse in case ps4 had a more powerfull hardware. Which indeed happen.

darthv723941d ago

it doesnt give a direct performance increase but an indirect increase. Offloading some of the menial tasks can give a perceived increase in performance.

the difference could be minimal but we dont know to what extent how much power the cloud will process in relation to the power of the system playing the game directly. Im sure they have been working on this for some time so we will have to wait and see.

I like the idea of playing the game and the cloud doing background processing. PS4 is going to be using gaikai to stream certain games but it wont be the direct platform doing the work other than input for control.

Sony can transition gaikai to do something very similar to retail games if they want to. So while it seems like a way out there marketing ploy....it could turn out to be beneficial depending on the games that are designed to incorporate both physical and cloud processed play.

pedrof933941d ago

Yeah but M$ said it would make XONE 4 times more powerfully.

This is misleading publicity.

The xbox one hardware haven't been finalized. The only thing folks are still using those esrly specs from vgleaks.
The author of the article didnt do much resesrch on the CPU while both are x86 thex1 is a beefed up AmD Kaveri the ps4 is based off the Kabini. Directx 11 .2 can't be done in Open GL..

WickedLester3941d ago (Edited 3941d ago )

I keep reading that the Xbone hardware hasn't been finalized but I'm not buying it. If MS hopes to make launch this holiday season those systems have to be going into production now! Plus every improvement/revision that MS would be doing would only be driving the cost of the system up further. There is no way in hell the hardware is still undergoing revisions at this stage of the game.

FrigidDARKNESS3941d ago

The hardware to be finalized and unveil next month on Aug.27 at the Hotchips symposium.
This is the same event they used back in 2005 when they unveiled the final specs and architecture of the x360 .

medman3941d ago

Thank you for exhibiting a certain level of common sense, Wickedlester. Folks don't seem to understand how the research and development or the manufacturing process works.

Smoovekid3941d ago (Edited 3941d ago )

What is your source?

I would like to know. lol

Hicken3941d ago

Do you honestly think they'll be able to me ANY kind of demand if they allow just three months for production? Does that make any business sense to you?

kneon3941d ago

Why would you want to do Directx over OpenGL? That would be silly, you've got OpenGl then use it as is. Directx doesn't buy you anything, it's just another API. They each have their strengths but one is not vastly superior to the other.

The article is wrong on the GPU. MS Gpu will be be custom based off AMD Radeon next generation graphics technology GCN 2 .0

MysticStrummer3941d ago

"They're strategy is to keep Sony in the dark to keep them guessing what the final hardware will be like."

I guess you'd better keep your inside knowledge about the GPU to yourself then.

skept3k3941d ago

I don't understand how the system specs cannot be final yet. Are they going to wait until the last minute to start producing the consoles?

FrigidDARKNESS3941d ago

MS has said this is a marathon not a sprint. They're strategy is to keep Sony in the dark to keep them guessing what the final hardware will be like.

skept3k3941d ago (Edited 3941d ago )

Why does Microsoft need to keep Sony in the dark regarding the Xbox One hardware specs? Sony has already confirmed the PS4 hardware specs so I don't see what they have to gain.

They are keeping the consumers in the dark.

WickedLester3941d ago (Edited 3941d ago )

Uh, I have news for you. Sony is not "guessing" at anything. At this point Sony is focused on Sony, not MS. I don't think they give 2 shits about what MS is doing with their hardware. If MS truly is delaying hardware finalization just to "keep Sony guessing" then that shows you how misguided they really are.

Oh and hardware may very well be unveiled in August but that doesn't mean they're waiting to finalize it by then. All you need to do is read what's inside the final dev kits and you'll know what's in the console. Xbox fans secretly hoping that MS is hiding specs for some big "shock the world" unveil is simply grasping at straws.

medman3941d ago

Listening to their pr people, Microsoft is doing a pretty good job of keeping their own people in the dark. Good luck with that.

kneon3941d ago

The main specs have all be final for a while now, certainly the CPU and GPU have been nailed down. The lead time to get chip production up and running is too long to wait until the last minute.

PSN_ZeroOnyx3941d ago

And the xbox bro's go into defense mode.

PS, any changes to hardware this close to launch WILL result in a timely delay. These aren't games, they need months to produce them in large quantities. If M$ isn't already producing then they are in big trouble.

PSN_ZeroOnyx3941d ago

Also, any changes to the hardware will affect all games in development and cause developers time and money to get their game up and running again, some of which will miss launch dates. It would screw the developers who are already spending too much money on their respective titles.
