Definitely a good deal. I already bought FE:A and I'm getting SMT4 day one, so it's basically just a bonus for me.

I'll probably buy New Leaf off the eShop.

Its a great deal, especially for 2 high-quality IPs. I hadn't picked up FE:A yet simply because I've been slowly plugging my way through my backlist of games, but this deal made me order it just now. Will be picking up SMT4 day one.

So, any advice out there on good games on the eshop?

Right now I only have Monster Hunter for WiiU, and for the 3DS is have Animal Crossing, and a Harvest Moon game (have Rune Factory 4 pre-ordered). Based on that, any hidden gems anyone can recommend?

dedicatedtogamers3941d ago

Can't speak for Wii-U but on 3DS Kokuga is a great shmup. Mighty Switch Force is also good.

When push comes to shove, you could always buy a bunch of Virtual Console gems. $30 would nab you a fair amount of Game Boy and GBC games for your 3DS if that's your thing.

animegamingnerd3941d ago

now i am very tempted to buy shin magai tensei 4

nrvalleytime3941d ago

That's the spirit man. I'm hoping it's even remotely close to FE:A in terms of quality; if it is, that 30 eShop credit will be saved for the crossover game coming sometime in the next year or so.

Just great fan-service.

Donnieboi3941d ago

Buy it! SMT is the new Final Fantasy. Also if u also have a Vita, buy all the persona games too. And keep an eye out for SMTxFire Emblem if u have a Wii U.

Dj7FairyTail3941d ago

Now all we need is Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem to be shown

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3941d ago

I know where I'm putting my $30 credit LOL

Xof3941d ago

Some key points:

-There's no retroactive time limit (this time), so if you bought FEA at launch, so long as you registered it with CN it will count toward the promotion.

-It doesn't matter whether you buy physical or digital copies of either game.

....

So, basically: the best promotion Nintendo has ever done--and, I believe, the first promotion where they're not screwing anyone over.

klecser3941d ago

All of this has been confirmed in Nintendo's Facebook post about the offer. I was on the fence about SMT, but now I have no excuse.

PSjesus3941d ago

I thought both games well cost 30$ on eshop

nrvalleytime3941d ago

At the moment, SMT IV is $50 new and FE:A can be had for around 30-35 if you look hard enough. Digitally, I think both games go for $50 and $40.

PSjesus3941d ago

I already have Fire Emblem, but SMT for 50$ is this a special edition?

klecser3941d ago

I don't think so. But if you're going to give any company 50 bucks for a 3DS game, Atlus would be the ones.

It seems Nintendo now restricts international purchases on eShop from certain countries

Users will be greeted with error code 2813-2470 if they try to purchase something from the Argentinian eShop without having a bank card or gift card registered for that particular country.

An unsurprising move from Greedtendo

They need to start quality control and getting rid of the shovelware garbage that's been infecting eShop lately.

Nintendo Shuts Down eShop Services In Russia After A Year's Suspension

Nintendo has decided to cease its eShop services in Russia starting from May 31 in a largely expected move.

Leeroyw326d ago

Good. You can't invade a foreign sovereign country and expect things to go on hunky dory. Queue the Russian bots to down vote me. I don't care. This is not okay. A child and her mother killed over night. In their own home. In their own country.

10 Video Game Sequels That Saved Their Franchise

Video game sequels like Assassin's Creed Origins, Doom (2016), and Fire Emblem Awakening were just what these franchises needed to be revitalized.

Immagaiden354d ago

Lmao what’s Halo Infinite doing on this list?

Who would ever say Halo Infinite saved the Halo franchise

SullysCigar353d ago

Thought the same - very bizarre!

RE7 though... my God, what a shift over RE6! That franchise was definitely going in the wrong direction, so RE7 was a welcome return to form.

ModsDoBetter353d ago

Resi 6 was and still is the worst entry in the series.
7 was a great turnaround, despite people’s concerned about the switch to FP perspective.

DMC5 definitely helped the franchise after the whole DmC debacle. Whilst it was a decent action game, it was a far cry from the series and the characters we knew.

AC Origins is my favourite in the entire AC series. Despite the switch to a more RPG style of gameplay - the setting, soundtrack, length, etc were all amazing. sadly followed up by the ridiculously long and “more of the same” Odsyssey.

I don’t feel it’s fair to say the franchise slipped with Doom 3, Doom 3 was incredibly atmospheric and took the game in a different direction but there’s no denying Doom (2016) was sensational.

Halo 4 & 5 were disappointing but Halo Infinite definitely didn’t save the franchise? What?

TheEnigma313353d ago (Edited 353d ago )

I'm going to have to go with SMB 3. I was around when SMB 2 first came out and people hated it. 3 is still arguably the best mario game created.

HellspawnPR1981353d ago

"Halo Infinite"? Worse Halo ever. Whoever made this list just lost all credibility.

Hofstaderman353d ago

In future lists of a similar nature I have a suspicion Final Fantasy XVI will feature.
