"Truth be told, I’m not a real fan of high fantasy. With the exception of the work of J.R.R Tolkien, this sort of stuff just never interested me. This is why when Dragon Age Origins originally came out in the fall of 2009 I dismissed it. Granted, I didn’t completely put it off since I know that Bioware is a great company that has made many renowned RPGs such as Knights Of The Old Republic, Jade Empire and Mass Effect (just to name a few). I did think that the idea of a dark fantasy story was interesting but I figured that at the end of the day it would just be more of the D&D stuff that I don’t like. After I borrowed a friend’s Xbox and played the first Mass Effect game, I decided that I would get Dragon Age Origins just to experience that same level of amazing storytelling and dialogue. In this regard, Dragon Age Origins did not disappoint."

Here are some great action role-playing video games to play while waiting for the highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Talented writers can build worlds that are as wondrous as real-life. Here are the best lore-rich video games for you to get immersed in.
How'd fallout not make the list. Atleast over cyberpunk, tales , and halo. Fallout been around since what 96 98 and has 5 6 games into it. It's full of lore when you play it. I'd even add star ocean to a point.
narration is more important than lore i'd rather watch the story and characters in a more cinematic way instead of searching for notes and stuff that's why i love sony exclusive games like uncharted and gow and hate from software games
I didn't pick this up until a few months ago because I'm not at all a fan of the whole wizards and dragons fantasy thing either. I picked it up simple because I was loving the Game of thrones TV show, wanted to buy the game but my body physically wouldn't let me so I compromised and bought this instead. I am so glad I did. Aside from a few horrible sections such as the way too long solo jaunt through the fade the game is fantastic, I would say its actually better than Mass effect. The writing is the most truly surprising thing, the main plot may not be the most original but as this review said, no character is 2 dimensional, everybody is interesting and though most of the broad plot ideas might not sound very original, they never go exactly the way you would expect.
