15 plus reasons why the PS Vita is the handheld of choice for horror fans

I went on a short vacation last week. And just before I left I searched the PS Store for a few horror games to keep me busy during the moments I had to wait or simply had nothing better to do. And when I was roaming the PS Store I found out the horror catalogue of the PS Vita is pretty big, growing every week and slowly but surely becoming walhalla for horror fans. And this made me realise the PS Vita is the handheld of choice when you're a survival horror fan. Here's 15 plus reasons to back up that statement

Think it will only get better with remote play when they release Daylight and Outlast for PS4.

The OLED will make all those dark/light contrasts and mangeled flesh textures pop out.

Got right back into my vita now, playing motogp 13 awesome game

LemyAtom3943d ago

Agreed. I reviewed it on the vita lounge and it took me by surprise. After the disappointment of WRC 3 on Vita my hopes weren't high tbh. Anyone into proper racing games needs to try it. Given that it's that or F1 2011 it's a no brainer.

I want a Vita spin-off of The Last of Us. Bend Studio would probably be a good fit as the developers.

IMightBeRetarded3944d ago

That would be awesome if it followed the story of a different set of people. Perhaps showing a different perspective on what is justifiable or necessary to survive.

Well about 8 months ago Bend studio said they're working on another AAA project for Vita after the successful of Uncharted Golden Abyss so I guess we have hopes

http://www.ign.com/articles...
I also remember Bend saying they love the power of PS Vita and their website's homepage is all about Uncharted Golden Abyss for PS Vita, so it's pretty much they're working on a title and it can be either Uncharted(cool), Syphon Filter(wat) or Resistance(YESS!)

Before you say "It's been 8 months it's cancelled or fake", big games take more than 1 year or even 2 years to make even if it's a handheld game, so until Gamescom it'll be a full 1 year and I'm pretty sure they will reveal it! I'm very excited for Gamescom!

Everything is good on the VITA.

I'm really curious what will Sony going to show us at GC.

I mostly disagree with Downpour's position. Yeah, the game is not amazing by any stretch of the imagination but is much better than the HD Collection and Homecoming. The main issue is the performance, but that was mitigated by the patches, especially on the PS3. Personally, I put it a little behind Origins and The Room.

Having Restless Dreams as a different entry from Silent Hill 2 is also a choice.

Normally, we would not consider it a different game (Restless Dreams), but since it had a very different critical reception and had new content, it was allowed. As for Downpour, I would agree, but since that one is subjective, we let him make his case for the placement.

silent hill 2 is definitely the best one out of those.

for me personally, the whole ritual/cult stuff was always so weird to me in all the other games.

CrimsonWing69181d ago

No disrespect but I put SH2 over 1. 1 is fantastic, but 2 took it all up a level.

bfrye26180d ago

We agree, that is why the writer put it in top place!

It's now time for somebody to go up to Xbox Live Gold whilst it's fast asleep, then hold a pillow tight over its mouth until it stops breathing.

crazyCoconuts265d ago

This is game pass though. Doesn't seem that much better right now.

Profchaos265d ago

Looking at the quality of games mixing the two up in this case it's an easy mistake to make

BrainSyphoned265d ago

I forgot Everspace 2 released so I'm happy with this month.

Profchaos265d ago

Well I guess we know where all that gamepass money is going right into a giant s labelled bucket

ChasterMies265d ago

Microsoft is spending $70B on Activision. That doesn’t leave a lot left over for other AAA games.

monkey602265d ago

I've really wanted to play A Short Hike and Airborne Kingdom for a while now so it's cool they've been added but yeah I don't see this exciting the masses
