GameNTrain Author Christopher Carpenter writes: In the 1970s, video games kicked off. At the time many would have probably assumed that gaming was a passing fad and it would be gone in the blink of an eye, but they were wrong. Gaming continued to grow in popularity, increasing in both fandom and variety until it changed from arcade games into the multi-million dollar creations of today. However, what caused this significant increase in popularity? The answer to this question is: games.
Throughout its history, games have continued to revolutionize the industry through the creativity and determination of those who were not afraid of trying something new. As such, many of the greatest and well known games that originated in those early years have been the inspiration of many being released today. Today, we will take a look at some of those games that have become influential in today’s gaming world
You guessed it: you will need a lot of hours to beat every FF. But maybe not as many as you would think.
According to Howlongtobeat and this post, 489 hours, not including any spinsoffs, sequels or the two MMO's (FFXI and FFXIV).
That means, 1 to 16 + 7 Remake, excluding X-2, XIII-2, Lightning Returns, XI and XIV.
I"ve actually been running through all main games myself, but doing Platinum runs on each, including the sequels (Excluding XI and XIV).
I have played through them all countless times thou, and in remasters where I could speed up combat and exp gain, I've used it.
Took me around 1100 hours on fresh account, but now I'm exhausted and super ready for Rebirth.
At this stage good luck you're better off picking a entry point and sticking with that
Guess I know what my kids and I are playing tonight! Looks just our speed. (They sure as heck aren’t playing Sony’s stealth-dropped free Silent Hill.)
The popular Sega franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog, has been really successful in recent years, forging paths for the recent upcoming titles.
From the PS1 alone:
DRIVER
TOMB RAIDER
METAL GEAR SOLID
FINAL FANTASY VII
RESIDENT EVIL: II
SILENT HILL
There are hundreds more.
This list is terrible. Where is:
-Street Fighter II (the first successful fighter)
-Wolfenstien 3D/Doom (origins of the FPS)
-Super Mario Brothers (the first game not played on a single screen - also, it's freaken Super Mario Brothers)
-Blades of Steel or Ice Hockey (NES) (showed sports games could be good)
-Goldeneye (made multiplayer and console FPSs important)
-Virtua Fighter (first polygon-based fighter)
