This proves to me that Mass Effect won't have any real rpg gameplay

N7Lukas3948d ago (Edited 3948d ago )

Lets just hope its not to develop anything Mass Effect related.

Oh, just read the article, Mass Effect is doomed. Expect characters with no depth and Hollywood action around every corner.

Lvl_up_gamer3948d ago

That's some pretty week proof.

Just because a dev goes from 1 company to another doesn't mean that suddenly future IP's within a franchise is now going to completely change.

To me, this proves that 1 dev chose to broaden their resume and work for another established company.

Can't wait for future ME titles in next gen.

MizTv3948d ago

It's like PLEASE stay away from MassEffect

konnerbllb3948d ago (Edited 3948d ago )

More importantly another top level Epic Dev is jumping ship. Cliff, Rod, Mike and now Chris. It's possible I have missed someone. Epic is no longer epic. I assume it has something to do with the Chinese acquiring a stake in Epic Games. (Tencent Holdings)

Let's also remember Rod left Epic to wrap up Bioshock Infinite, shortly before/after release he quit. With his family still in Raleigh why wouldn't he just stay at Epic, seems more logical. I feel that Epic had to cut their budget and gave these guys the choice of riding it out and eventually getting laid off or leaving with a bigger severance package and other bonuses.

Mounce3948d ago

Cause by all means - a developer who has worked on a 'Shooter' series can infact not make ANY other genre game because there's a magical boundry that limits their creativity and makes it so if they go anywhere else. They'll never make an RPG and never have any skills or abilities to do anything else except for games that involves Shooting and cover systems, Right?

As Comical as your post is, it's ignorant and presumptuous to go on the fence and say that the guy who went to Bioware has no bloody skill in gaming or programming outside of the Gears of War series or its genre.....

How about more optimism and less cynical and groundless comments to trashtalk a company and actually SEE what they DO and reveal first before you Attack.

SideShort3948d ago

Thank you. Hate what gamers have become. Entitled? maybe a while ago. More like brats now.

Mounce3948d ago

@Sideshort - Yea....too many 'Gamers' who think themselves completely knowledgable about everything to do with games where they lose face of what is infact rational, and what's irrational. Jumping to conclusions and being cynical with prior facts and putting the dotted lines together at a pace that is never straight or fluid :/

UNGR3948d ago

Well they tried copying Gears with the last two games, maybe they'll not suck at it this time.

Saints943948d ago

It's bad enough EA screwed with the series now this?

thekhurg3948d ago

Wow ... Wonder what the hell is going on at Epic Games. Can't say I'm all that pumped about him joining the mass effect team but hopefully it works out for them as well as us gamers.

Npugz73948d ago

Great! Now you can kiss the mass effect game goodbye! Gears judgment was horrible!

wow gamerant forgot mass effect 4 came out years ago number 6 and 7 were cancelled.

The new mass effect which can be called number 5 will not have any of your choices why you might ask?

Well dragon age keep were your choices from number one can been seen in number 3 got unplugged from number one and number 2 is finicky.

Dragon age on pc requires a mod to get past the server login and non of your choices get uploaded to the keep even the dlc no longer works sense it needs a server check.

On xbox i teseted this only though local saves i was able to transfer choices from one to too but 0 of one dlc would work.

So if the more popular dragon age series is in this state why would they care about your mass effect choices?

Oh and that remaster that was tossed out still has day one issues and number 3 is still hard to play on pc do to lighting issues and ram limits imposed from 2014.

My expectations for the next bioware 2.0 titles is very low.

phoenixwing373d ago

They should redo the main trilogy

just_looken373d ago (Edited 373d ago )

They should redo the dragon age trilogy for sure on pc DA1 the ui is messed up sense it was for 4080p/720i days back in 2005. Getting to run is also very hard

The only way to play dragon age one is via xbox one backwards compatable state.

The ps3 version of dragon age one is pre throphy/ in game xmb so it has the freezing/crashing issues or just will not run.

just_looken373d ago

Well i am not American so please enlighten me on usa education before your country invades mine and forces us into your society

GhostScholar373d ago (Edited 373d ago )

@ just_looken

Did I mention education? Never said America did have negative points. I know for all you “enlightened” people you think everything is either all good or all bad, but in reality that’s not how life works. We have a government that traded a known terrorist for a basketball player who moonlights as a drug dealer. We aren’t perfect by a long shot. If you want to go political though how about your leader leaving his own country when the truck driver strike happened?

porkChop373d ago

Dragon Age is not more popular than Mass Effect.

shinoff2183373d ago

Yea I read that and was like I've heard way more people talk mass effect compared to dragon age. Personally I'm more into mass effect. It's got the whole dope ass sci fi thing going on while dragon age has the same old medieval thing

gold_drake373d ago

andromeda is a spin off tjo and not considerd a numvered title. as it has to 99% nothing to do with the trilogy.

i think they need to make the destroy perfect ending canon.
we need more of shepard. haha.

Gears of War: Judgment - 10 Years of Gears' Most Misunderstood Release

Gears of War: Judgment launched 10 years ago today, and quickly became one of the most misunderstood titles in the series.

ZwVw407d ago

Easily the best control-wise of the series. Judgment introduced melee-ing with the lancer and is still the only installment of the series (to date) which enables you to change weapons while roadie running simultaneously.

Gears 2&5 are the worst controlling in the series.

ocelot07406d ago

It killed the series for me tbh.

Sciurus_vulgaris406d ago

The Arcady aspects of the campaign should have been unlocked after completing a campaign play through. Seeing score screen after battles caused awkward pacing. The multiplayer was too different from other Gears games.

giovonni406d ago

Judgment felt more like an expansion than an actually game. To me, I was fatigued from the series at that point. The story was ok, over all it wasn’t bad.

Mass Effect 4 Can Explore Post-Apocalyptic Themes

Game Rant Writes "Mass Effect 4 will likely treat Mass Effect 3’s Destroy ending as canon, and this gives it an opportunity to explore a post-apocalyptic galaxy."

Destroy is the best choice. Bring the relays back over the course of a new trilogy, maybe right at the end of the first game. Say it was Cerberus, Salarians or a bunch of keepers that created a relay.
