Forza 5. Need for Speed Rivals. DriveClub. Gran Turismo 6. Find out how these next-gen racing games handle.
Digital Foundry : Whether it's via FPS Boost or bespoke software upgrades, backwards compatibility on the current-gen consoles delivered an unexpected delight - the ability to liberate older console games from their 30fps limits, running them at 60 frames per second or even higher. FPS Boost did the business for Xbox Series consoles on an impressive range of titles, but there was always the sense that PS5 could do more. It's a hunch that checks out as a range of frame-rate unlocks are available for PS5, covering many must-have games - the major caveat being that only exploitable consoles running on older firmwares are invited to the party.
you love to see new life being breathed into older titles but damn the process to get there. It should be automatic that these work for everyone... not just those who exploit their systems. Really wish Sony and MS would keep this program going officially.
Damn this sucks. I want this shit so bad, but I’m not jailbreaking my console. And frankly I shouldn’t have to. I’m not a tech person, but is it really that hard for developers to unlock the framerate? Or would that have to be a large patch?
Yep, this sucks having to require a jailbreak for something that should be standard in our industry by now. I learned my lesson when PS4 was jailbroken and I didn't keep a console on low firmware for years, but now I'm holding onto two low firmware PS5s specifically because there are features I'll be able to do that you can't do on official firmware, so this will pay off for me soon enough.
After nearly three decades of NFS games, here's a list of the best Need For Speed titles that have ever been released in the past years, ranked by The Nerd Stash.
A detailed look at Gran Turismo 7's new track Grand Valley, judging its evolution from its former design and layout in Gran Turismo 6, side by side.
Just got confirmation my PSVR2 is shipping by 24 hour courier, so I should have it tomorrow! I know nobody else cares, but I had to tell someone lol
GT7 will be my first game, as I want to test out my wheel - so excited - it's going to be awesome!
I could be wrong, but I thought GT6 was releasing only on PS3. I don't think there has been any word on GT6 for the PS4.
Did I miss something?
It's like everyone will just pick the game on the system they own anyway. But there is no denying that Gran Turismo is the Godfather to all this. Then with Drive Club being said to be the most advanced graphically detailed car racing game ever created. It just kind of makes you lean towards Sony more. But again, people will just stand by whatever console they own regardless.
Is Need For Speed even relevant? How can anyone add NFS to a racing game list without noting The Crew?
Need For Speed has been off my radar after NFS2.
Don't get me wrong, they had some hits and misses since then, but overall its been all stale, try too hard, underperforming titles.
If you like Need For Speed, but hate Forza or Gran Turismo, you are dead to me.
ive watched a true 1080p video of forza 5 and its stunning seriously.....it just looks too clear and smooth i need this running on my tv now.......make me even more excited that I preordered mines ....oh btw gran turismo 6 looks stunning watchin the vids sometime the game looks like live footage it unbelivable
I feared that Drive Club would suffer from being 1st of a new franchise on a new console. It will still be a good game but we might have to wait for Drive Club 2 to get an epic game.
Knowing Evolution Studios they can make this into a great franchise. I'm a big fan of MotorStorm and they proven they can do realism from their WRC days.
