Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures Not Coming To Xbox One Out Of Principle

Gaming Blend "The side-scrolling, hard-as-a-turtle shell, rage-inducing platformer is a labor of love by FreakZone Games but it's not coming to one specific game console... the Xbox One. “Why?” You ask in a tone that obviously indicates you don't see where this is going. Well, young padawan, it's because FreakZone is self-publishing Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures and that, in Microsoft's book of video game law, is a crime against digital nature."

thomasmiller3942d ago

no, you wanna see a big loser, look at the XBOX 1!!! hey what ever helps you sleep at night sparky!!!

Fireseed3943d ago

Self publishing... such a touchy subject.

Cmk01213943d ago

OH how im sad some crap game isnt coming to xbox one...what is going on N4G? this is just shameful allowing these redic articles.

IcicleTrepan3943d ago

I assume it's mostly Sony people that don't own an Xbox 360 that think the self publishing is a great idea. If they could only see the mass of crap that floods the indie section of xbox live you would understand why they don't want just anyone making a game and sticking it up there. Clone upon clone upon clone of any remotely successful game, and a bunch of garbage games that nobody wants. 500 'games' that turn your rumble enabled controller into a massager aka dildo.

TheTwelve3943d ago

You know what you do with those crap games?

You don't buy them.

Word of mouth and recommendation ensures that only the best games get bought.

I think it is healthy to like big publisher, "AAA" games and still be open to playing games by people who are talented but would normally not get the time of day.

Indie gaming is the nuts and bolts of what gaming is all about.

And how, exactly, do you know this game is going to be crap?

Have you played it? Oh, right, it hasn't been released yet.

Or are you just one of those people that think all indie games are crap just because they're not AAA games?

Also, you fail to see the underlying point here. This isn't the only indie dev that will pass on the Xbox One, many others will do the same, because Microsoft isn't allowing them to self-publish these games on their consoles, whereas Sony and Nintendo do.

That's why you see a fuckton of indie games already announced for the PS4 and Wii U, whereas the Xbox One almost doesn't have any of those in comparison.

Obviously I don't have much to go off of, but from the game footage I've seen, it looks like a crafty and funny little side scroller. Definitely worth checking out.

A lot of the people writing it off are people generally do not like James Rolfe and his AVGN character; the kind of people who threw a fit because he asked for donations to make his feature film.

Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures Review – GamersFTW

Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures is a 2D platformer with a retro game style. The title tries really hard to capture the difficulty of old NES games, as well as the character of the Angry Video Game Nerd. While the graphics, music, and controls are all fantastic, it falls a little short in the level design, story, and humour.

Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures: SteamFirst Review

SteamFirst: I decided to put off writing about the game I was supposed to review this week to write about a game I played for the first time at PAX Prime 2013. I have actually been sinking a decent amount of time into that game, and I have enjoyed it so it will be getting a favorable review at some point in the near future, but I have been wanting to review this game for a while now, even though it’s not exactly a new release anymore.
