An opinion piece from casually-addicted.net showing why narrative in games are becoming more realistic and depressing for the gamer
***contains spoilers for Mass Effect 3, The Last of Us and The Walking Dead: The Game***
"Around fifteen years ago, I used to spend my nights grinning from ear to ear, sending Sonic spinning from one badnik to the next while collecting every ring in sight with my lightning shields. The eleven year-old me spent time playing games when really, I should’ve been getting a good nights rest before school. At times I’D turn up a yawning mess as my late night session’s on the latest Sega game was affecting my education – not that I cared."
"The Game Music Foundation are today very proud and pleased to announce an additional concert, circling back to the roots of Game Muisic Festival in Poland. On April 28th, 2024, the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw will once again become a place to celebrate the art of video game music, featuring scores from The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II." - The Game Music Foundation.
Based on one narratively fitting ending in Mass Effect 3, Prothean squadmate Javik is highly unlikely to return in the next Mass Effect game.
He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
Najam from eXputer writes "It's time fore a new installment in the series, not another pointless remaster."
They are working on something new. Not to be rude but it is impossibility stupid to think ND next major announcement is going to be a remaster or their next Last of Us entry is going to be another remaster.
I cried during Kingdom Hearts and Shadow of the Colossus endings. But it was during cinematics. The Last of Us is the first game that had me crying while playing. I never thought that would happen, but it did. Another reason for me not to ever forget that game.
I never invest emotionally in games I just want everyone to die in them for my own fun I have never cared about any character they are just there for me to exploit and toy with.
