Toukiden PS Vita bundle selling out around Japan

Reports out of Japan show the new PS Vita bundled with Toukiden are selling out fast across Tokyo, with massive demand for both the game and the Vita bundle. The game is sold out on Amazon Japan, and neatly placed above current chart topper The Last of Us in the site's all-formats top 10.

While Vita sales have been ticking over the last few months since the price cut and a few decent releases, it has had few spectacular moments, and this could be the first one in 2013 to get the system moving.

Didn't Phantasy star online 2 and Soul sacrifice boost it ahead of the 3DS for like, one glorious week? Retailers were selling out

I think you're right, but Toukiden looks more like the traditional Monster Hunter-type game those guys crave.

Soul Sacrifice is a really great game, but not the 'MH clone' people made it out to be - it's different and just great on it's own merits.

Toukiden could fill the 'gap' MH left behind when Capcom turned their backs on Sony gamers...here's hoping so - it's certainly a very good looking game!

If it's taken the number one spot from Last of Us in Japan, it can't be any slouch in the gameplay stakes either! :)

reminds me of the PSP FF7: Crisis Core bundle, no way to find one of these collector PSP beauties!
i ended up going to a very very tiny shop and they had one left :D

This is the game that made me buy a Vita. I can't wait for the overseas release enough.

Until then i have all the PS Plus vita games to get through starting with Ninja Gaiden first.

"Toukiden PS Vita bundle selling out around Japan"

so...what about the rest of the world?

G20WLY3949d ago (Edited 3949d ago )

It's not available in "the rest of the world" until Q4 this year, hence looking at Japan. The game and the bundle released there 27 June.

How's that for a good reason? :P

im waiting on the launch of Killzone to get mine

GdaTyler3948d ago

Dude, it just came out. It'll be available to other countries later on. :)

Played the demo the other day and controls seem very tight! Graphics were pretty good too. It seems to have a hub similar to MH.

It will be interesting to See how it sells.

I think FFX has potential over here too. I'm just worried of the effects MH 3DS will have.

Sony better be planning something big!!!

r213949d ago

Good news then. Should mean a big bump in sales in Japan.

PsychOff3949d ago

About time those Japanese appreciate the PS Vita, we don't even get half the awesome games they are getting and I still appreciate mine.

xxPillsxx3949d ago

Don't worry, they will soon or late eventually come to the rest of the world and you can always import them. But as long as it boost Vita's sales coming to the rest of the owrld or not I'm still happy.
The Vita is getting tons of games now, time to show off!

GdaTyler3948d ago

I agree. Wish most were localized. I could use some of those RPG's that it's not easy for me to get my hands on. :( Until then I'll wait or import it.

Toukiden 3, between the future plans of Omega Force

After the good feelings that came with the remarkable Toukiden 2, the Omega Force team in charge of this series has shown interest in working on a new chapter of the franchise, although they have recalled that at the moment they are developing a project that will be surprising, without offering more details.

After the release of MH World, Omega Force has a lot to catch up. Toukiden 2 is pretty good but I just can't help but find the game just more or less the same. The open world feature needs a few more kinks and additions instead of just "collecting items" and "killing enemies". The combat also needs to be improved upon because while it is indeed fast, it can get pretty repetitive. I also wish that the story and characters will be better, because I found the characters in TK2 to be a bit less varied compared to TK1, and even then a lot of the characters were basically stereotypes.

Good news, the Playstation 3 Toukiden is awesome

MilkMan3162d ago

I loved it for PS4. Id like to see more of it AND expanded.

The monsters/enemies just need to be a bit more active, they seem a bit static a lot of the times. Not saying they should move between zones if they don't already, but at least a bit more mobile, from what I played anyways.
