We already know that the box of the PS4 will include the console, the DualShock 4, a HDMI cable, an headset, a power cord, an USB cord and the instructions. What we didn't yet know is how some of those components will look.

Yes, i agree. It looks like Sony's out for blood. They are doing everything right so far. PS2 success in today's world is kind difficult especially MS spending billions in marketing and time exclusive games/dlc but PS4 will do great no doubt about it.

There was always good interesting stuff in them and that just kind of died off.

I think you have a bit of nostalgia going on there. I too used to read the manuals of all the games thoroughly in the Nes, MD and SNES-era but nowadays I don't bother. The swich to the manual we have now (pretty much nonexistant when compared) doesn't bother me at all.

If it's NOT nostalgia for you however it's too bad. I don't need them but I do understand both ways.

@ inso- yea nostalgia kicks in a bit. lol, but also I actually enjoy reading. I could read for hours as long as it's something I'm interested in, so a game I like falls into that category.

They were also pieces of art to me too kind of. Also there was good information, background info on characters, tips, background story overall, pictures and other art that may or may not have made the game.

They aren't a need, more of a want, but there are still millions of us out there that would appreciate them still. I guess you could say there is still a market for manuals....but I'd never pay more for one.

I want to know the same. I have the first one they released. The 5.1 one. I want to say I'm 99% positive they will work with the PS4. The move and navigation controllers will work as well. Dualshock 3 and the old Playstation eye camera will not work with the PS4. Hope that helped.

The only problem is that a HUGE part of the PS2's success was they DVD player. At the time the format was relatively new and I know for a lot of people it was their first DVD player. Bluray hasn't had the same impact and now with digital becoming an ever growing alternative, I don't think Bluray will ever reach that level of install base.

I do think that PS4 is going to be hugely successful, though. Just not PS2 successful.

judging by the insanely huge demand for day 1 preorders that early launch window might not be possible it seems like releasing at the same time as xbox one might provide a greater launch day stock to compete with xbox one; however i have a feeling ps4 releasing on or before black friday might benefit them more.whatever sony decides im sure will keep liver punching the xbox one sony is pissed at this gen 1 year behind fiasco.

Not sure, but it's a mono earbud so if you can listen to in-game audio, it's not going to sound that great. The good news is that, unlike XBoxOne proprietary audio jack, PS4 will work with just about any headset you may currently have.

I can only think that this is pretty 'doable', Sony in concerns of online fee was never one to desire the return in exponentional speed, so I can only assume either by creating a new account or perhaps a 30 month free trial code.

It is in their best interest to lure you & me in so they can then convince you to buy the product, it's a good and known strategy.

Still it's far cheap, so either way i will be getting the yearly one.

XBOX 1 only support's HDMI so not including the cable would mean people couldn't play it without making another purchase for a HDMI cord. I ride with SONY, but trust, as greedy as Microsoft is, they wouldn't go that route.

i think their waiting for a better understanding of the demand for day one ps4's before they set a release date. sony is actually putting themselves in a good position to possibly beat ms on the release date but like i said before it all depends on the demand for day one ps4's. be glad sony hasnt gave an exactdate means theyre still deciding whether they can release the ps4 early as well as meet the demand for launch day ps4s. plus i think they dont want to give ms the time to change their release date.

No interest in this console until Sony makes the kind of Socom game the fans have been begging for since Socom 2. If they don't want to make a true Socom and are still anti-fanbase they can at least support David Sears H-Hour kickstarter since he's the only one willing to make the kind of game most Socom fans have been waiting for. Bring Socom or H-Hour:World's Elite to the PS 4 and I might just get on board. Well, to be honest. We have seen tons of pictures of the console, the DS4 and the headset in very high resolution on Sony's flickr page and I do not need a picture to know what a power- HDMI- and USB-cord looks like.

The only thing I take away from this is the longer USB-cord which is good, because the old one was bad if you wanted to actually use and charge the DS3 at the same time. That's why I did use the longer cable that came with my A40's.

And the manuals... they look like manuals. Nothing special, it's just the new PS design and a bit nicer to look at compared to the PS3's manuals, but who does really care.
