Dev: Wii U version of Deus Ex is 'the ultimate version'

During a Q&A session about with game designer Emile Pedneault about Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut during E3 2013, he states that the upcoming Wii U game "the ultimate version" compared to its existing ones: PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Just case the PC looks better does not make it better. Lets be honest the Wii U version looks great and I ads multiple elements that the PC can't. Take away the 2560x1600 of the PC now what does It do better?

Yeah, as long as you have a PC that allows you to view the game in that resolution. Guess what, I have a receiver that allows me to upconvert the Wii U to 4K resolution.... see the point?

Yah because resolution is what defines how good a game looks and plays lol go home Pope your a molester. The Wii U version is more optimized than any other version of this game with better effects than even the PC version and greatly enhanced gameplay through proper use of the Gamepad.

that resolution doesn't make a difference. I have the PC version, and i'm gonna get the Wii U version for the enhanced gameplay, improved lighting and engine, and integrated touch controls. It'll be much more involved and overall a better game. Not to mention that the textures are hi res just like the PC version and will be 1080p.

If you watch the video he even states that it is better looking than the PC version.

My guess is the second screen I'll add a whole new level of immersion. I downloaded it off PS Plus and it while I think the subject matter is cool, the game feels like a poor mans Mass Effect. The stealth was frustrating and the shooting doesn't feel satisfying. Every part of the game feels like a chore.

Agreed, definitely an overrated game. I bought it on Steam, and I couldn't bring myself to play it for more than 3 hours. The graphics are average, the shooting is meh (just like you said), the story isn't all that great and the world just feels lifeless.

Its like they were trying to copy different aspects of games such as Rainbow Six Vegas, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid and The Darkness, but it ultimately ended up feeling really flat on all levels...or at least that was the feeling that I got while playing the game.

Ok LOGICWINS I'll let you know why I love Deus Ex.

I love it because it gives you a lot of freedom of choice in how you tackle objectives, there are not enough games of this type for my liking, and Deus Ex is one of the best ones. I also love the world it's set in, and all the back story that can be uncovered along the way.

While I don't think it is better than the original Deus Ex, it is still a great example of how a game of this type can work.

The ultimate part is with this version the boss battles are not outsourced. They are actually redone by the original developers. The boss battles really were a huge complaint about the original and that is kindof a big deal. In addition, there are tweaks to improve the overall interface, features added, and of course. Graphics and framerate improvements. That is what makes it the ultimate version.

The idea behind a "Director's Cut" is it includes things they weren't able to fit in the Original. Either stuff they wanted to do but didn't have the time/money, or new things they came up with since release.

Better graphics, more content, more intuitive inventory/menu system all leads to what should be a better product. At least that's what the math says.

in my opinion, i wouldn't consider the game as "the best" in it's genre, but it was definitely not bad. for me, i'd grade it above average. yes, it does feel like a chore to do at times, but i guess it depends on how you perceived the game as a whole.

i also found the option of going "stealthy" all the way throughout the mission, but end up being more like an action shooter in the boss missions also odd, but nevertheless found the game to be, all in all, good.

what i didn't like in the game was how it switches from 3rd person, to 1st person when shooting. i dunno, i feel it was either 3rd person all the way (except hacking part), or 1st person all the way. but it's a small complaint really.

I guess none of you own I wii u cause if you did you would know every game as long as they they don't down grade the visuals to less then what the wii u can do will allways be better on wii u ...the pad adds so much from map display to off screen multiplayer to off screen play etc the possibility are great its just everybody so focused on ps4 and xbox one they won't even give the the wii u a try the devs too ..I have all 3 current gen consoles and the wii u is the first next gen one I have so far till ps4 comes but that don't change the fact that the wii u runs circles around 360 and ps3... I don't even touch my old consoles unless a new game comes out which there haven't been none I just beat last of us in 2 days so back the the wii u i go ...ya should give it a try before ya hate and I don't mean a store demo I mean at someone's home cause then you will see how good it is ...I'm a active person and a working father of 3 so its great to come home after a long day sit at the table and eat while surfing the web on the wii pad then sit back in my back yard and play a few games while sitting back and enjoying a nice smoke and a cold one .....I can even go online a shoot people in call of duty which by the way runs way better on the wii u then on the 2 other consoles with all the same features minus the maps ... If I get stuck some where I can pause the game look it up on the web then go right back to where I left off or go ask for help on miiverse which is like face book for gamers and I have been helped by people on there a few times allready and there some nice drawing up there too ..then at the end of the night me and my wife jump right on Nintendo tv where We can look for some thing to watch based off of a lot of dif factors like actors ,live ,favs etc or even connect right to Netflix or amozon video until we find some thing to watch ... And it's all for free and did I mention the wii pad controls every thing in your living room cable box ,tv, stereo ,etc it will swtich your inputs,put your volume up change your channel etc .. so you don't even have to get up now whats not great about that I don't know why people don't see what Nintendo made here it really does it all ....yes it won't be as powerful as ps4 or x1 etc but its stronger then last gen and that gave us pretty games like tomb raider,god of war , gears ,bioshock, last of us , metal gear, so it will get some pretty games .....I will enjoy then all like a true gamer I can't wait to get a ps4 and Xbox one I got them both pre ordered and paid all ready so I hope ya wii u bashers read this and give it at least a try before you comment or let a game web site or worker change your view on a console without you realy trying it for your self..your only robing your self out of a great experience :-)

For real I really am its really a great console and the screen resolution on the wii pad looks so clear you would think it was a 1080 display i guess its cause the image is not being streched like it is on our tvs cause the picture on the pad be looking way more better then the images on my 3d tv ...and it has some ok games right now and some good ones on the Vc on the eshop ..but come November I better not hear the famous wii u has no games complaint cause by then we will have batman ,watch dogs, splinter cell, rayman ,call of duty , donkey kong ,wonderful 101, pikmin, dc sribbnauts ,deus ex ,assasins creed4, Mario 3d world etc,....so I wanna see whats going to be every ones next complaint ..I wish gamers would be more friendly and stop choosing sides each company has something that the other ones don't ...

Yeah, I want deus ex for WiiU but its delayed cause they're making the directors cut for current gen systems. . . I'm looking forward to wonderful 101, that'll release earlier here in Europe, August. I got to play monster hunter on it at a friends house, the game looked gorgeous and I love the potential of the gamepad especially what deus ex is doing with it.

I don't understand why gamers downplay other platforms. I don't think I ever will, and things won't change anytime soon. Just ignore the politics and game.

Company's are looking at attach rates now they allways do with new consoles so if the wii u version only sells 50 to a hundred thousand it's a better attach rate then say a million on Xbox cause there's like 70 something million Xbox compared to 4 million wii u's .. And it shows them that money can be made there of course its not going to sell like the ps3 or Xbox version there's millions of them consoles out there ...now if the wii u version of watch dogs or assassin credd or any third party game this fall doesn't do better or about the same sales wise as the the ps4 and Xbox one version of the same game then Nintendos got a problem ...all these current gen multi platform games are going to all ways out sell the wii u version

A more viable example would be shirts cost 2 dollars to make but you sell them for 5. If I made 3 and sold 2, I have a profit of $4. If he made 200 shirts and sold 150 while he made a profit of $350.

The model you used made it economically unsafe to make more, to sell more...and isn't that what game makers want? As many copies sold as possible?

What I don't understand is if the developers have access to create a Miiverse page why won't they do it before the game is released and market the hell out of the game. I watch all the demo videos and they could send a indicator to check out the new page.

They're asking for $50 for a game I paid like $5 on Steam, is free on PSN+, and paid $60 for almost 2 years ago. It's also on sale for $15 on Xbox 360.

So while WiiU owners get to play a great game, it's also 2 years after the fact and $35 to $50 more for a minor update.

I wouldn't call the update minor. It includes a ton of things as well as the DLC integrated into the story.
