One way it’s possible to gauge the growing interest in pro gaming in the U.S. is to track the number of gaming houses that have popped up the last couple of years. In Korea, it’s standard for pro gaming teams to live together and practice together (sometimes with extremely intense schedules that don’t allow time for social activities or even girlfriends).

Ridiculous, the game isn't even that good
It's funny, when people used to say they wanted to play games for a living, the only real option was as a tester. Now you actually CAN - it's just about as likely as getting a job in the NBA or other pro sports league.
It at least gives players something to aspire to and work for. Having the possibility exist is likely to encourage more pro gaming interest at the least.
