Sony Will Defeat Microsoft In This Console War

I must say this, Sony is leading in pre-Orders has of right now, not only that but ps4 is one hundred dollars less than the xbox one . Which means that if Microsoft doesn’t drop the price of the Xbox One, and remove this mandatory kinect 2.0 from spying on people, this will hurt their sales. Now the next thing is this , Microsoft needs more first party titles, we are tired of seening the Halo’s , Forza, & Gears of War. Microsoft is running these titles in the ground , we are in the next gen era so we need to see new ip’s out the gate. Sony on the other hand is producing more first party titles at launch , giving gamers more to choose form . The ps4 is more powerful than the xbox one, a prime example is the memory, xbox one is using GDR3 and ps4 is using GDR5.

I agree it's too early, but logically speaking it's not that hard to believe.

PS3 still outsold Xbox 360 launching a year later, with a $100 - $200 price difference the majority of the consoles life cycles, tons of negative press the first couple of years, and developer not being able to cope with the hardware early on.

Sony has eliminated all those problems Day 1 with the PS4, and on top of that they're $100 less, with MS adopting all the problems that plagued the PS3 this time around.

Logically speaking the PS4 has a huge advantage going into this console generation, also Nintendo isn't looking to good either.

@ mustang, it didnt take 7 years to catch up, ps3 was out selling 360 from day 1, the diffrence in numbers were due to being a year later in usa and a year and a half in europe if you look at the numbers you would see this, but it really doesnt matter that much, i got to play some fantastic games this gen on all consoles, cant wait to get stuck into the ps4 day 1 and the one a lil down the road.

Very true. If someone would've told me in 2007 that ps3 would beat 360 worldwide I would've laughed. No way to tell how this coming gen will turn out but Sony is definitely hitting the ground running and doing almost all the right things.

I mean the current gen console war is still going technically so it is not over until the ps3 goes like the ps2 but they have outsold the xbox 360 and I imagine the last of us will generate even more sales for sony. I am a PC gamer so lets get that out of the way but it seems to me like everyone is counting the current gen war over. One war at a time please :P But it definitely seems like ms lost a lot of people with their drm then their lack of balls to stick to their plan. At the end of the day, console makers generate the most money from game sales and apparently the xbox smokes the playstation when it comes to actual game purchases so we will have to see.

It seems pretty clear to me that MS is going for the casual crowd with their "entertainment" box, focused more on casual games and a tv set top box type of setup. Agree, the Ones biggest hurdle will be getting that casual markets attention before all their hardcore friends already have a PS4. That $500 price tag and limited supply will be tough to get over for the casuals. Also, do they still want motion controls or has the fad aspect of it passed? Do the Wii only casuals even feel the need to change?

First of all lets just make sure you know, its not just N4G its all vocal gamers on every site, even sites that are traditionally pro Microsoft. Also, Sony will have a better line up (if history is any indication) and also will support its console for a longer period of time without slowly phasing out gaming. Everyone has their opinion. I am actually excited to see what developers do with Kinect 2.0 considering it comes with every system. I think both systems have a really good line up of exclusives. I can't wait for Titalfall, and Infamous well that just looks f*uking amazing. I'm glad Microsoft dropped the stupid DRM crap so I can get both systems at launch! As for as the HD is concerned you can connect an external the XBOX ONE, get your facts straight.

There's no doubt that the XB1 faces some hurdles, but it's too early to call a winner in yet. I think the race may be close in North America, given MS' strong fanbase in the U.S., but globally, Sony will have a strong advantage given that the XB1 is only going to release in certain markets in 2013. The XB1's TV integration is basically a U.S.-only proposition. Other countries may get similar services, but if Netflix is any indication, the difference in service between regions may well be staggering.

It's like these people are seriously getting a cut of Sony profits. Lets be clear...Xbox will never outsell the other consoles cause it already has one HUGE strike against it...it's an American product to it's core. Thus there are certain places where it will never sell against Sony and Nintendo.

But to say it'll fail is asinine and only fanboys think it'll really happen. The price point won't hinder the sells cause if people want a product then they'll buy it. There are plenty of people who simply prefer to game on a console not named Playstation.

It won't matter to most people people that I agree with but the fact is some people will make their decision on price.

I can see that happening with a much cheaper product that may not be kept long. I can see people saying give me the cheaper one if the products did the same thing, like an e-book reader but not a system with different exclusives and functions. Most people buy systems based off games, the feel of the controller and the system you're closer with. 100 bucks wont matter as much when it's an investment like this.

i believe that things will remain largely the same between the two console makers during the next gen with only a few noticeable shifts in sales: MS will still probably have a stronghold on the american market, but this time the PS4 will have an even greater presence in the US. MS will most likely still come out on top in NA though. Americans are a difficult group of people to change when the advertising is done right. speaking of difficult minds to change, MS will have absolutely no presence in japan this time around, nor will they try as hard as they did last time to create a presence. EU will be the ps4's mainland. without a pricedrop the wii u will be very few peoples secondary console this time around. 3ds will continue to sell by the truckload while the vita fights tooth and nail to even reach psp status. mobile games will not affect handheld sales. dlc will become more in-your face, if you can believe it.

If you want an early preview of how the sales will look.. just go look at the PS3/360 sales and look at whats doing what in different regions, and match the US numbers a bit.. that is the number you'll get.

Enough of these articles already. They arent even out the door and the only ones doing pre-orders are the hardcore which might make up 3% of the market. Sony is cheaper and logicaly will attract more "gamers" at the start. X1 is got more to offer and many consumers will want to take advantage of its capabilities. Not everyone buys a console for gaming only and the ps3 was a good example with its bluray.

Both will do fine but I just dont think it will be as lopsided as these poor fanboys are "hoping". If sony coming into this gen with its dominance of the market world wide thanks to the ps2 couldnt dominate and lost more than half the market to MS and Nintendo what makes anyone think that it will next gen?? MS has made its mark and taken its fair share from sony. Sony is desperate but will never get dominance it once had. I fear that they will go belly up if they dont reach that goal this gen. I stopped reading after he said the Kinect was going to "spy on people." Sony fan boys really will pull anything out of there ass to put down the Xbox wont they? Cant use DRM and 24 hour check ins anymore? Well that's fine, let's use the Kinect to poke fun. Because a console coming with a 1080p camera that takes voice commands and can sensor any movement you make is a bad thing right? Is that because your precious little Playstation doesn't come with it? But you must be right. Microsoft has absolutely nothing better to do than to watch millions of people sit down and play video games in their underwear while scratching their balls.

And then I saw that Forza, Gears, and Halo were being run into the ground? Let's just take a minute to realize how dumb this guy sounds. Seriously, just think for a minute. I know that might be hard for some of you, but I have faith. Done? Good. Now Forza is comparable to Gran Turismo. Last I checked GT is coming out with a 6th game, while Forza is on the 5th... I don't even know why he's talking about Gears, I guess a release every 2-3 years is bad, and it's not even on the One!!! Next, Halo. The MOST successful exclusive shooter of all time. Yeah Microsoft sucks for releasing that game every so often.

And I don't even know if he mentioned price because I stopped reading, but let's break that down too. Let's take the 360 and PS3 price points and add online costs to that too. 360 released for $399, PS3 for $599. 8 years of Live and you got a total of $879 with no games. No online cost for PS3, you got a total of $599. Difference of $280.

Now take the next gen. One releases for $499, PS4 releases for $399 (funny how it's cheaper than a PS3 at release). Let's say another 8 years of Live, that's a total of $979. Now let's take 8 year of PS+. That's $799, a difference of $180.

Why are 360 fans bitching about price now? You all had no problems spending the money for a 360, now you're gonna complain over the $100 launch price? Get real. It's all gonna end up the same regardless. And if you include the Eye, it's only $120 difference over 8 years.
