When PS3 pulls ahead, the goalposts move.

Total number of exclusives was once touted, but then PS3 caught up and the goalpost moved.

Then it was the Metacritic score of those exclusives. Again, PS3 began to dominate here and the goalpost moved.

Then for the longest time it was total sales. Now that PS3 caught up here, too, the goalpost will change to something else (like total number of online accounts, or sales in the US, or something like that).

It's largely pulled ahead due to the PS3 Slim MKI and MKII. PS3 Phat is an awful machine, really regret buying one. I wonder how many other people agree and replaced their Phat with a Slim?

Wii U is far from dead, Nintendo has a truck ton of games coming out for the Wii U starting in August and through the holiday season.

Yeah Disney has allot of games planned for the Wii U in August if your into those type of games. I guess Splinter Cell Black is planned for August 20th but I doubt people will be lining up outside the door to buy an Wii U and Splinter Cell Black.

On the positive note, Mr. Satoru Iwata finally realize he needs to diversify Nintendo's software portfolio. Read reports he's growing the team and looking into new IPs to develop, so next E3 might be interesting if Satoru Iwata is true to his word.

Hollabox, August for Nintendo is Pikmin 3. That game is going to sell a lot of Wii U's if Nintendo markets it right.

Splinter Cell is just a side dish of Wii U owners. If you're going to argue against the Wii U, at least know the line-up of Nintendo's first party games.

I've posted the Wii U lineup in the past for August, just didn't think Pikmin was worth mentioning. I will admit I've never played or had the inclination to play Pikmin, not even on my Gamecube.

With that said Pikmin looks and has always looked way too soft or casual for my taste. From what I've seen is Pikmin really any different than what Disney offers? Pikmin is a colorful kid game which fine if that's thing, I say more power to you but its not for me. With that said I still don't see August release of Pikmin, Disney titles, and Splinter Cell being System sellers. I'm talking about 30,000 units or less in the US at best.

Any who I was actually praising Nintendo for atleast acknowledging they need to expand their portfolio. If they show something decent for my age I might consider Nintendo again in the future, I just grew out of most games Nintendo offers today.

Really? You don't say? Of course I know game development can take anywhere from 12-24 months or more depending on scope, quality, budget, and team size. The E3 comment is not an release date, companies do showcase their titles sometimes a year or more before they are actually released.

It goes without question really, Nintendo has had a death grip on the handheld market's balls for over 20 years if there was a massive dip then that would have been unusual.

Honestly when you look at it it's no surprise on the Vita's position, the reality is whether the Vita had a ton of support or not , it was never gonna outpace Nintendo, a company that's pretty much dominated the handheld market since 1989 and with the advent of IOS, Android it's obviously gonna having a hard time.

The US is propping up the 360 sales. In the rest of the world its not so good for them. Expect the Vita to get new life closer to the PS4 launch with talk of PS4 games played on it.

Wii game in the top 10, wow. Wii outselling the WiiU because of the low price of the console. 3DS is officially a successful console, probably on it's way to topping the all time charts like the DS.

Three things stick out to me, 3DS holy crap. Everyone on earth will own one soon. Happy for strong TLOU sales, good for Naughty Dog and people really love that Minecraft.

TLOU is a great, great game. Ps3 will keep on going strong if games of this caliber keep coming.
3DS also doing well but Nintendo never really has a hard time selling hand helds. Wiiu ouch, not dead but could use a price cut, and bigger hard drive. I know wiiu owners say that it is fine but perception is a powerful thing and people see 32 gb and scoff. But the 3ds got through a rough start to, guess will see this fall, but thAn again that's when it's real competition arrives Xbox1 and ps4
