During Sony’s Pre E3 2013 Conference a few weeks ago, Avalanche Studios showed off the first official debut trailer for their upcoming Mad Max reboot. While the trailer consisted mostly of computer-generated cutscenes with no gameplay footage, fans in attendance grew excited at the opportunity to finally play a brand new Mad Max video game.
The next day, I had a chance to sit down with Warner Bros. to take a deeper look under the hood at what all they have planned for this title. Here are a few of my thoughts on Mad Max and why it may be worth picking up when it launches on consoles in 2014.
BY MOSHE SWEET: These are the best licensed video games that are not Spider-Man or from the Batman: Arkham series.
I had a blast with a Bugs Bunny game on PS1 as a kid. It is probably trash now but at the time, it was awesome.
"50 Cent: Blood in the sand"
Ps3 scored 6/10 all round loads of review sites but was so much fun while not a technical masterpiece in any way has a worthwhile engaging story and script and of course an unbeatable soundtrack.
GF365: "Whether it be style, speed or firepower, these rides are sure to satisfy. Here are our picks for the ten best vehicles in video games."
The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak from the Gran Turismo series
Nissan Skyline from Need for Speed Underground
Motorcycle Steamroller from Dead Rising 3
And finally a car you never drive but saves your ass over and over : Honey Badger from COD MW2
I was thinking of Mad Max. That V8 felt really good to drive around in, especially with upgrades.
GF365: "These are the best games based on movies. Every entry on this list will be a great video game adaptation of popular movies."
Mad Max demo was very early in development but still looks promising.
No aussie voice or multiplayer bargin bin for me.
I don't expect the voice acting to be good, so I don't care what accent the guy has. Avalanche and story telling don't exactly go hand-in-hand. The game play is going to be incredible, however.
They really need to get a proper Aussie voice, but I have hope for this one as the devs are quite good at what they do.
