E3 2013: Crytek Sort of Confirms Crysis 4, Talks Crysis 3 Flaws

Hardcore Gamer: Crytek apparently wanted to be able to give players the ability to shoot someone in the leg for example, to be able to bring them to their knees, and allow for a more lethal killshot to the head or another vital part of the body. It's great to see Crytek being open enough to talk about a significant flaw in an otherwise terrific game, but you know what's even greater than that?

Yeah pretty bored of Crysis, they should take a break and Make timeplitters 4, ffs even a Hd collection would be cool.

Then focus on a real open world game worthy of the original but with interesting gameplay and a actual story that people will give a sh1t about.

It won't happen though we will get the same dull but pretty crap again.

It's a shame because I really liked the first one.
I loved the freedom and the beauty of the island.
I bought Crysis 2 at day 1 and I never before was more disappointed in sequel. Crysis 3 looked like more of the same. I dont have much faith in Crytek any more..

Agreed. I played the first one and Warhead. Warhead was somewhat entertaining, but it got old about halfway through. 2 & 3 weren't even worth buying to me. You can tell most of the work goes into working on the tech rather than the gameplay or anything.

I know. I can't understand these kids. Crysis is like call of duty with good graphics. Crysis plays like call of duty on speed. Air stomps are awesome. And I liked the story. Different strokes I suppose.

Only idiots play it like call of duty. If people enjoyed it like i do, it would be a lot more appreciated. I could use stealth whenever I like, it made me feel like a hunter, armor abilities were awesome to balance with, and the gameplay actually made me choose how i wanted to play.

I'll admit the approach of Crysis 1 was the best because it was open world, but as standalone games, crysis 2 and 3 were a lot less linear then COD and Battlefield 3.

You mean bad aliasing. Anti-aliasing would fix most of the issue. AND, if you have a decent enough PC, anti-aliasing took care of it.

No I meant anti-aliasing because even when applying it there is no noticeable difference accept for a performance hit.

I've got two GTX680s running in SLI mode but the aliasing looks bad and anti-aliasing is terrible because I honestly can't get it to look good.

You could easily turn on FXAA in the Control Panel (or download a super sampling method). It wasn't "bad" anti-aliasing, it's just a lack of it.

they should make a crysis 1 remake. That said crysis 4 should should show us how much more grunt the ps4 has compared to xbone 1 if they choose to push each console to the max.

Crysis 3 flaws. Everything, except for the pretty graphics. I've never played a driving section in a game so bad, I don't even know how it was possible.

Maybe Crytek's problem is focusing so much on tech and visuals rather than putting together a great game. If you really thought the game was flawed why release it for full retail price?

While Crysis 3 was pretty cool, it was just more of the same from the previous iterations of Crysis, even down to the same weaponry and gimmicky gameplay for multiplayer.

Congrats on having great tech, start focusing on developing a great game now that you have no excuses as to console limitations.

That's the one thing I can get behind with the next gen consoles, game developers can no longer say how limited they are.

Crysis 1 was excellent, Crysis 2 was good, Crysis 3 was on the border between good and bad and they should stop there. What's left story wise for Crysis 4 anyway? They can't continue developing the story because they finished it.

I hope to god they don't make another one. Crysis 3's story seemed rushed, no introduction to the world, no backstory.. Nothing. Just guns blazing from the beginning. The game had no personality, just pretty graphics and mediocre gameplay.

That's not what games are supposed to be. Let Crysis go Crytek, go make something else.
