Microsoft: 'We Feel Really Good About What Xbox One Is'

Following significant changes to its DRM and connectivity policies, Microsoft is happy with what Xbox One has become. Speaking on Major Nelson Radio, Microsoft's chief product officer Marc Whitten lauded the company's decision, briefly discussed the future, and said, “We feel really good, frankly, about what Xbox One is.”

Your system is bad and you should feel bad!

dedicatedtogamers3960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

They felt really good about the online-required and the "family share" and the DRM, too. They insisted that "DRM can't just be switched off" and that the Xbox One was the future. DON'T YOU WANT TO JOIN THEM IN THE FUTURE?

This is a company with no vision and no passion for gaming.

Don't give them your money.

Convas3960d ago

I can do with my money as I please.

frjoethesecond3960d ago

@Convas. True as that may be, I'd suggest you don't do stupid things with your money. Things like buying drugs, porn or an Xbox One.

ssj273960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

@convas
well yeah you are been paid by m$ lol

@frjoethesecond
getting a xbone is as bad as buying drugs, fair lol

AO1JMM3960d ago

Don't buy porn please.... its all over the interwebz for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

darthv723960d ago

my addiction to gaming is too great to let something like a little bit of controversy stop me from buying into the next gen platforms.

To do so would limit me and the games that appeal to me. There are appealing games on all platforms and as such....I gotta have them all.

imdaboss13960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

i like competition but M$ is just trying to fuck with gamers..They can implement DRM as they please on the xboner..Dont matter if its a patch another update will just bring it back in the future..dont be a fool and waste money on a business that is full of compulsive liar and snake around consumer/gamers..I hope they vanish from the gaming industry and have nintendo fight it out with sony to keep them on their toes..

mistertwoturbo3960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

More like

"We feel really good, frankly, about what Xbox One is. Except we wanted it to be DRM restricted and check in every 24 hours. But now we feel really good about what Xbox One is. Except, yeah we still don't really know what our vision is. But we still feel good. That's a good thing. Right? Right?"

Automatic793960d ago

You seem to hate everything MS does. If you don't like it then don't come to Xbox stories it is as simple as that. Enjoy Sony and stop hating on MS.

NameRemoved00173960d ago

Everyone that buys an xbone is supporting communism.

Army_of_Darkness3960d ago

Do they even know what xbone is suppose to be still??

NewZealander3960d ago

MS, I think it's a bit weird that you feel the need to tell us this

S2Killinit3960d ago

So true. There is a Persian proverb, it says:
you tell me once and I believe you
you tell me twice and I doubt you
you tell me three times and I Know you are lying.
Microsoft, your reputation proceeds you, go home gamers are tired of your BS

darthv723960d ago

the word is "precedes" not "proceeds" just a simple typo but i knew what you meant. ;-)

CerebralAssassin3960d ago

Why is the system bad? I dont want to hear about DRM bs. It is what it is. Deal with it. What makes this system bad?

Burrito26a3960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

I really dont think its bad. Zoidberg reference. Edit- The policies are bad.

Timesplitter143960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

The system itself isn't bad, but it has nothing over the PS4 except its price (as in... it's 100$ over the PS4's price)

The PS4 was designed with a x86 PC architecture, making it the easiest to develop for between the two consoles. It also allows self-publishing for indies which is a massive bonus.

X1, on the other hand, only has Kinect. Let's not pretend it's actually something worthwile.

But actually I'm really curious. What do you think X1 has over the PS4?

imdaboss13960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

you dont think its bad? you pay 500 dollars for a system that basically you dont own..M$ control everything you do with yours games too..DRM will be alive with xboner and its still actually is till they release the patch..Just think about it all the games and system you invested in will just be a BRICK..NO VALUE! cant sell it or nothing..

CerebralAssassin3960d ago

Looking at this generation purely as a consumer both systems a fine. Personally I like the look of the xbone. I like that I can use it as a dvr and also record my gameplay with it. I like being able to use the kinect to navigate my system. As novelty as it may be. I use the espn app and ufc app. Im oooking forward to seeing what they will do with the deal with nfl. And the new tv series halo. 300,000 servers is impressive and I feel online will still be dominated by xbox. Not ps.

evil people don't feel bad about themselves.

kenshiro1003959d ago

Microsoft is the laughing stock of the entire gaming industry. They should quit talking before it gets worse for them.

KingKelloggTheWH3960d ago

ssj273960d ago

is a water cooler .. well that's what she said lol
I see it more as a 24/7 home security surveillance camera so the big brothers an watch you without missing one heart bit of your lovely life.

sashimi3960d ago

Pretty sure they don't feel good about the Xbox One after they were forced to remove the drm.

Transporter473960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

So good that we decided to a 180...

palaeomerus3960d ago (Edited 3960d ago )

Yeah, when I feel good about something, I always change it up and do so publicly.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

CrimsonWing691h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker1h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo52m ago(Edited 50m ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing6942m ago(Edited 41m ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos6h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto6h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger885h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
