FIFA 14 Next-gen Confirmed as 1080p60

Perhaps a given that FIFA 14 on next-gen consoles would run at 1080p but given that we've spent an entire console generation stuck in 720p native, it's great to finally have it confirmed.

... now let's hope it's not just a graphical improvement, but that they also...

- Fixed the freezes that affected FIFA13 for many.
- Fixed the replays, meaning you can SAVE it as a REPLAY game-file, instead of a crappy video-file. And hopefully has an option to upload it to your YOUTUBE account, instead of to the crappy EA website that's hard to navigate and only allows 5 uploads(!)
- Fixed the endless amount of menus and loading-screens, before you can finally get to playing a game.
- Included a proper player-editor, so you can change the appearance for players in offline-mode for those who look very little to the real deal.

Right... We can only hope for that. I highly doubt it though. They really don't give a damn unfortunately cause people just keep on buying the game. It's a shame cause if they really wanted to, they can easily make the game perfect.

The thing is FIFA for years has been 1080p 60FPS on PC yet they claiming its only possible via a new engine right?? *sigh*

You can max out the graphics for Fifa on pc, but Fifa on pc has always been a shotty port... So it still looked bad on 1080p.

Fix the game flow EA. Please have the teams use different play styles. If a cpu teams is leading or trailing late in the game then they should play like they are.

EA...how many games outside of EA do 1080p 60fps? Not enough to blame them for not doing it. A sports game to boot...cynical.

Will there be a game from a major publisher that isn't 1080p and 60 FPS? I'm not sure how the power usage and resolution correlates, my thinking is that if the WiiU can output games at those levels anything can.

I guess it's by choice, though you would think it would be a standard deal

Guerilla Games is focusing on detail and immersion over high framerates. That city skylne from the ps conference was completely individually rendered down to the last scaffold.

I'd much prefer 720p at 60 FPS. While moving it would look sharper too, eliminates that TV blur when moving the camera.

Yeah we will see a lot of this in the upcoming generation heavy graphical games will run at 30fps like Killzone, Halo, Battlefield and then your Fifa, COD, Forza will run at 60fps as they are not as graphically intense(not good graphics just amount of content).

Fifa isn't a demanding game in the least. If it wasn't 1080p60fps i'd be disappointed with EA. I'm sure they could output an even higher resolution on PS4 while maintaining 60fps to be honest.

I don't play much FIFA but quite looking forward to seeing how this looks on next gen. No doubt the tech will roll into their other games that I do play such as Tiger Woods. Golf doesn't need 60fps IMO but at 1080p they could ramp up the graphics considerably.
