GameStop Likes the PS4 More Than the Xbox One?

The shareholders of GameStop (NYSE: GME), the world’s largest multi-channel retailer of video games, are happy with Sony’s (NYSE: SNE) PlayStation 4 (PS4). While GameStop has started taking pre-orders on Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) next generation entertainment system, the Xbox One, it is the PS4’s strategy which has no new restrictions on pre-owned titles that relieves GameStop shareholders’ concerns for now.

False, GameStop wouldn't have a preference, if they did they'd lose all Microsoft support, and no good business would be stupid enough to turn them away. Only the gamers prefer the PS4.

Well... gamers are GameStop's bread and butter, right? My local GameStop was a MS pusher this whole generation, but I don't believe for a second that they wouldn't start to favor Sony if they saw MS's policies cost them sales in any way.

60 ps4 to 24 xbox1 at my store.we can't preorder the xbox1 anymore but we can go up to 100 ps4 before we have to stop.

No, then since the XB1 only offers that, it will be the console for me.

I like my consoles to be more then just a little black box under my tv that JUST plays games.

One or two buttons and I can be between TV, 360, PS3, Wii U, PC.

I'm not going to buy a $499 console with a $60 graphics card so I can use my voice instead of grab the remote next to me.

I mean if people want to buy something, that's fine...but if the reason is so they can use their voice instead of using a remote, it's not a very good one.

I'm sure Microsoft will make a few bucks selling your TV viewing habits. Kinect is there to exploit you and the data you create that they can either SELL or give to the gov't.

I buy a VIDEO GAME CONSOLE for games. Everything else is just extra.
If I want to watch tv I have a cable box for that
If I want music I have an iPod and radio

When I was a kid living at my Moms house, i did the same thing, I bought a console to play games...now I have my own home with a TV room. We are several years forward where a console ONLY played games. Last time I checked, the PS3 is the #1 used device to stream Netflix, so where YOU only buy a console for gaming, MOST ppl do more then just gaming on their console.

I want a console that does EVERYTHING and not just 1 thing. I want a single device that not only plays games, but also controls my entire entertainment system without fiddling through 3 different controllers to work a separate device.

Your "i buy a console to play games" mentality is a dying mentality that is ONLY shared with the very few certain brand loyalty crowd on this site.

You must have missed E3 this year...had you seen it you would have seen that the MS conference not only showed more games for their XB1 then Sony showed for their PS4, but the game lineup was also much better.
