Kamiya on Lighthearted Rivalry Between Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 Teams

At E3 2013 last week, Austin caught up with Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya for a brief chat. Kamiya shared an interesting nugget about the Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 development teams.

According to Kamiya, because The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 groups work in the same space, there’s often some (lighthearted) rivalry between the two. He can look over his desk and see what is going on with Bayonetta and feel as though he needs to one-up their intense action scenes, so in an indirect way, the games may bleed over into one another slightly.

Stuff like this sparks creativity and makes you want to do your best.

And it's all in good fun.

Platinum studios made Okami, Viewtiful Joe and God Hand. All legendary.

This is what i call super talented team, Nintendo might be so proud of all the hard work these guys are doing, at the end it's gonna pay off :)

The_Truth_24_73959d ago

Both will flop sales wise even if the games are excellent. Nintendo gamers don't buy 3rd party titles.

Like you can see the future right?, i'm getting both games as well, and btw, Wonderful 101 is a first party game, a brand new Nintendo IP made by Platinum games

I think it is suffering from convulsions on the keyboard of this guy. That is, it is impossible that someone has written a stupidity of this magnitude ... deliberately ... not?

that why I have zombi u, metal gear solid snake eater 3d and twin snakes enter the matrix, sonic hero's, silent hill shattered memories dead or alive and resident evil, splinter cell, assassins creed, call of duty to name few all of which are on a Nintendo platform. Nintendo gamers don't buy shifty ports of third party games that much is true but if the games are made with quality we will buy them.

The Wonderful 101 is Second Party not Platinum IP. It a Nintendo IP.

Why Bayonetta 3 Is a Step Down From Its Predecessor

Many fans have been expressing their disappointment with Bayonetta 3. Here's why the recently released game is a clear step down from Bayonetta 2.

MadLad496d ago (Edited 496d ago )

Yet the Switch is much more powerful than the Wii U - the platform the second game released on. So you're just being negative to be negative with that comment.

anast496d ago

The voice acting wasn't as good...

jBlakeeper496d ago

Bayonetta herself doesn’t even look as good design wise.

I thought they focused on big kaiju like fights which felt gimmicky and thy brought this new character in to try and get away from the leading star

*Spoilers*

I mean they pretty much killed 3 big characters. They killed Jeanne, Luka and Bayonetta herself and it's not the fact they died it's how they died, we've seen Jeanne and Bayonetta survive countless things yet they go out by the lamest ways possible.
