I'm seriously considering getting a 3DS XL soon but I'm afraid if I do Nintendo will release a newer version of the hardware! Should I wait? Dunno if I can wait any longer when A Link Between Worlds is released in November.

Myst3955d ago

I found the 3DSXL to be right for me at least. Compared it to my friends and it is really nice. I really don't see them releasing a new one for a while since they have a good balance between the two.

justastranger103955d ago

Xbox 360 was the best selling console.
3ds was the best selling handheld.
MS and Nintendo are winners this month.

--Onilink--3955d ago

I doubt they will release another one until sales start dipping a bit, there is nothing like a hardware revision to boost a handheld's sales.

Since they have an amazing catalog of upcoming games for the rest of the year, i doubt we will see the 3DS Lite until middle/end of next year

Starbucks_Fan3955d ago

Wait for it to be on sale for $170. It was that price not too long ago.

If you do get a 3DS, definitely get the XL.

Munnkyman3955d ago

I got one and im happy eith it. But i will be annoyed if they come out with one with 2 sticks anytime soon.

HexxedAvenger3955d ago

nothing really supports 2 sticks right now. I got a circle pad pro for my XL and only use it for monster hunter.

Everyone says Nintendo is in dire straights but completed ignores its dominance in the handheld market.

nosferatuzodd3955d ago

and microsopft claimed they are the best selling system in may i know coming from microshaft its a trick nothing those bastards say is legitimate

RiPPn3955d ago

Apparently you can claim you're number 1 if you omit all the competition that beat you. No wonder they claim they have lead 28 months straight.

Didn't MS say best selling console in the US according to NPD?

Just traded my 3DS for a Vita thanks to E3 and how bad Nintendos lineup is.. Nothing really amazing coming out for 3DS in 2014 making me worth keeping it. Plus got sick of paying £40 for a game that now feels like a £2 game I can get on my ipad. I mean come on technologys moved on so much most ipad/iphone/android games look and feel just as good as 3DS games and are under £3. Apart from first party games theres not much point in a 3DS. I love my VITA however and am enjoying Uncharted right now not to mention the upcoming ability to play remote play with my PS4 which is why I bought.

AdvanceWarsSgt3955d ago

Sounds to me like you were looking for a reason to sell your 3DS. Nintendo didn't have to focus on the 3DS at E3 because its release schedule isn't/wasn't the issue, but rather the Wii U's.

Also, if you couldn't find games to play that were better than iOS games then that's your own fault.

Hadoukameha3955d ago

I had both, but now just Vita. Though 3DS is neat and has good games now, the Vita is a superior machine and will only grow stronger when PS4 is released. Though I admit it is lacking games right now, which needs to be amended.

DEATHxTHExKIDx3955d ago (Edited 3955d ago )

So u bought a Vita to play PS4 games. Id rather buy a Vita to play Vita exclusive games. Sure thats a cool feature but I personally would never buy a handheld just to play another console's games on it.

Looking Ahead: The Lingering Questions About the Next Mario Kart

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "10 years. It’s been almost 10 years since the last mainline release in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U in 2014 and became the best-selling game for the system by a sizeable margin, and later pulled the same magic trick on the Nintendo Switch under the stage name Deluxe. All in all, it's sold nearly 70 million copies over the last decade and is still selling like hot cakes to this day, so it’s no wonder Nintendo has been in no rush to replace it. However, with rumors of a new system being just around the corner, and reports a few years back that a new Mario Kart is indeed under way, it seems the era of 8 might very well be drawing to a close. It’s an exciting prospect to be sure, but after two Nintendo systems with Mario Kart 8 at their heart, a lot of questions remain about how Nintendo will choose to follow it up."

I hope they just keep building on Mario Kart 8; Add a track-creation tool, and probably open it up to more Nintendo IPs with new tracks and characters, so Metroid, Punch Out, Starfox, Animal Crossing, etc etc.

there wont be a new one until the switch 2 comes out.

nintendo needs their bangers early on
