EuroGamer: "Despite State of Decay's rampant success on Xbox Live, the MMO follow-up, codenamed Class4, isn't a done deal."
IM PLAYIN continues the discussion on the two Zombie MMOs coming to the Xbox One and the PS4, after the recent details released on H1Z1.
"I was quite disappointed by E3, but only in the sense that we didn’t get any announcements on Class 4, the Xbox One’s up-coming zombie based game. We did, however, get a little bit of information, as well as a cool looking gameplay trailer, for H1Z1, the PS4′s zombie MMO. It’ll also be coming to Steam, so look alive PC gamers; it could well be Sony’s answer to DayZ.
The game that I’m most excited about is the untitled project by Undead Labs known only as ‘Class 4′. This game is destined for the Xbox One, with possible release on the 360 and PC, though none of this is confirmed. But, what do we know for sure?"
Well, I played the H1Z1 alpha at the Razer's booth and it was honestly terrible. Hit detection was amazingly bad, graphics were last gen and it was just boring. The world was really uninteresting. If I were to choose a Zombie game, I would choose Dying Light, maybe Dead Island 2 or hopefully a new Left 4 Dead? They may not be MMOs, but they are far superior.
H1Z1 is coming to PC first. PS4 might get it in a year or 2 when SOE finish it on PC but not before then.
I haven't heard anything about Class4 from Undead Labs.
So neither console are getting a zombie MMO any time soon.
I was excited for H1Z1, but when saw the gameplay and all you had to do to survive like build forts in the middle of nowhere and collect water, I was disappointed. It seemed like too many small petty things being focused on instead of action. I like zombies games like Dead Nation, Left 4 Dead, and State of Decay. I'm unsure about H1Z1 but at least it's free. I've never heard of Class 4 tho. All I know is that it's a follow up to State of Decay. So it should be good.
No point in this article at all...
I mean, nobody outside of Undead Labs knows a bean about Class 4. We know plenty on H1Z1 on the other hand.
Can't compare what doesn't exit in the public domain.
IM PLAYIN takes a look at the recently announced Sony zombie MMO and discusses the Xbox One's offering of 'Class 4'.
"State of Decay creators, Undead Labs, are working on an untitled project with Microsoft, code named ‘Class 4′, which is most likely going to be a stepped up MMO version of SoD for the Xbox One. Sony Online Entertainment, on the other hand, are developing H1Z1. To be honest, It’s a little too early to be looking at both games and trying to distinguish which one will be better. SOE has announced a bit about the game, or at least what they hope it will be. Undead Labs, however, have released virtually nothing."
Should be interesting as State of Decay was one of the best XBL arcade titles. Can't wait to see how these titles developed.
Getting harder and harder to find fresh ideas for games I guess :D. Curious about both though, can never have too many zombie games.
class 4 the new state of decay title will blow it out of the water h1z1 is a day z ripoff
Definitely my kind of battle can't get enough of horror games at the minute especially with withdrawals building from the end of the last series of the walking dead the futures looking good for zombie games hope class 4 and H1Z1 both turn out to be what we want.
IM PLAYIN takes a look at a blog post from last month and sees if it hints at the status of Undead Labs' next zombie game.
"If you don’t own an Xbox 360 or don’t really game on your PC (should you own one), Undead Labs’ horror survival game, ‘State of Decay’, might have slipped right by you. It was a Microsoft exclusive that I had been wanting for some time. “Finally …” I thought to myself, “someone’s used their common sense and created a free-roam, open world zombie survival game”. The genre had been staring us in the face since the success of open world city based games like Grand Theft Auto and the cult following of the graphic novel / T.V. series the The Walking Dead. Rockstar gave it a good old college try with their Undead Nightmare expansion to Red Dead, but it never really took off. Dead Rising was the closest we could get to zombie survival games, but it wasn’t quite hitting the nail on the head. Now, however, we’ve been graced with both State of Decay and Day Z to sink our undead teeth into (or have the undead sink their teeth into us, if you’re not very good at the games)."
You mean lab3 that was announced before state of decay had its name changed from lab4 or maybe its the other way around. Either way they stated state of decay was a test for their MP game that would come at a later date its no secret
Well considering the success of state of decay on XBLA, it'd be silly not to take class 4 aboard.
Can not wait for the beta testing to be done so I can get it on PC.
Make it happen, Microsoft.
World of Decay baby!!!!!!! Make it happen MS!
It'll happen probably. The original is selling really well.
