He also said the AI is dumb and easy to kill. He must not be playing on a hard difficulty (which I think is the best way to play) because you can very easily die fighting only 3 enemies as they quickly try to surround you to take away any possible tactical maneuvers

Yeah, he is playing it on easy. Normal can even get difficult when you turn off listen mode. I started on hard and haven't used listen mode and this game is a beast. Easily the best game this gen. F@$& whoever wrote this review.

You can only say it's unbiased and not a 10 if you have played and completed the game.

It's worth more than a 3/5 as it does so many good things on different levels.

The problem is with some of today's gun happy, head shooting, aim assisting hold your hand crap gamers a game like this will not appeal, unfortunately they will miss out on something that's very different from the mainstream and a bloody welcome addition to every churn out the same crap every year market.

You can't please everyone but I'm sure many like me are more than happy, in fact I think it's pretty damn good.

I agree. For starters it is one of my favorite games on the PS3, but when I was playing a lot of the puzzles seemed repetitive, it's linear, and I agree with the writer on the NPC AI while sneaking. Good design choice but when you see it in action your like "wait ... why cant the enemy see or hear them?" Overall it's easy to overlook, which I think a lot of reviewers are doing. Despite these tiny flaws I would still give it a 9/10 because for me it's hard to think of another game that's as visceral or emotionally engaging as The Last of Us. For that alone a 60% is way too low in my opinion.

I agree, it seems that everyone is quick to give it a perfect score without realizing what is implied by doing so. By giving it a perfect score, reviewers and then claiming it is better than all the games that were given a 9.5 meaning this game is better than Skyrim, Walking Dead, etc. I feel they are jumping the gun and and are unwilling to see the flaws, and every single game has them.

It's an emotional journey. Naughty Dog has found a way to make you feel emotionally connected to the main characters to the extent that you feel sympathetic when something bad happens to them. Not very many games do that.

Now, can you give me an argument as to why this game ISN'T a 10/10? Doubt it, since you probably haven't even played it.

Also, judging by the reviews on metacritic, this game is CLEARLY not a 6/10.

I feel the need to point out that I think your idea of what a "review" is is completely wrong. A game does not have some sort of objective score embedded in it, that reviewers attempt to divine out of the game by playing it. It's a subjective piece of art that can be liked or disliked, depending on the reviewer's tastes. If the reviewer makes their opinions clear and supports their claims, then their review is valid.

Of course, you can disagree with the opinion presented, and I encourage that discourse. But my issue is claiming that a game is CLEARLY or CLEARLY NOT any one score. I'm glad you liked the game, but people that don't like the game aren't ignorant or biased.

It's also worth noting that converting a 5-star scale to a 1-10 rating to support your argument is silly, and defeats the point of the editor's decision.

Actually that was a decision on the developers part. They realized that if you were sneaking around and your companion was caught, it would be totally frustrating because it was entirely not your fault.

They decided to make it so that if you are staying hidden, even if your AI companion gets seen the enemy wouldn't react to it because you would still be in stealth.

As with the Uncharted series, I start the games on hard so I can get the easy and normal trophies once I beat the game on hard. The game is great though. When I first got it I kept dying because I was trying to play like it was Uncharted.

I'm only about 3 hours in and so far the story is flawless. It's very emotional and makes u care for the cast (kinda like tupac's lyrics). There are some flaws like the enemies not being able to see your group even tho their right in front of them, but I understand why its that way. I haven't touched the MP yet and honestly I really don't care to. This is easily the best PS3 game I'VE ever played. 9/10

See, as far as the enemies not knowing you're there when you're right in front of them... are you talking about Clickers? Because they're blind. They only "see you" when they HEAR you. They're not supposed to see you just because you're in their quote unquote "line of sight". Although as I complained above, sometimes they do anyway.
