We shouldn't be attached to companies, particularly not ones who mistreat their customer bases. If Sony fucked up everything this gen - DRM, check in restrictions, shitty hardware, $500 pricetag - I certainly wouldn't be cheer-leading them, no matter my history with the brand.

These companies are not our friends. They provide a service. If they don't do that adequately or competitively, move on. No sense getting so attached as some of these fans seem to be. It's not healthy.

I have zero plans to purchase this system. The original XBox was my favorite console of that gen (sorry PS2, I just liked it better) and I bought a 360 this gen pretty much day one.

I'm not. And idk why people think xbox is winning this gen. since even if they are beating sony and from what i have seen in total world wide sales they are about even, wii still out sold them. But back to the next gen I have around a dozen xbox fans that i talk to at work and none of them are going to get an xb1 strictly because of the fact they have to have kinect and check in every 24 hrs. but only 3 of them told me they would buy a ps4 most seem to say they just will stay on 360.

The only reason for the discs to exist is to avoid what drove me away from The Last of Us digital today: Downloading 26 GB per game.

Other than that, yes, the disks are indeed useless since alone they don't allow you to play.

I agree. If the games are high quality, then the gamers will come back to the Xbox One. I usually buy all the consoles on launch, but this time im only getting the PS4 but I do expect to buy a Xbox One when Titanfall gets released. No other Xbox One exclusive has peeked my interest. If Titanfall was a launch title, I would probably be getting both systems.

Hate to say this, but the mere fact that people areb coming to this page just to bash it means there is some kind of subconscious interest in the machine. Think about it, all the pages talking about Xbox One since the Monday press conferences have been full of some compliments and a lot of hate messages. If you really didnt give a damn about this machine you wouldn't waist your time reading about it and you certainly wouldn't waste your time commenting about it, not if your thinking logically. The restrictions suck, I get it. Hell I've already put down my money for a PS4, but by no means is the XB1 out of my personal gaming picture. Something big will come, something will take advantage of what we see as restrictions and turn them into a positive. Ha, no. Xbox One certainly won't be in my household. The only things connected to my television in my living room are my PS3, Wii U, DVD player, and DirecTV cable box. Besides, most of my friends are sticking with Nintendo and Sony. For those who have Xbox 360, they are keeping or getting rid of it and going to Nintendo, Sony, or stick with PC.

What she did say about PC is true. Certain policies on the Xbox One have existed on the PC for years. There's a key difference, though. We are talking about PC features versus console features. When you are at your computer, naturally online is the most dominant feature you have. Hence, your streaming of music, movies, and games will be through the internet. Plus, you can't really sell or trade PC games.

Consoles have never had a strong internet presence until this past generation with Live, PSN, and E-Shop. This is where it differs. Gamers who have used consoles primarily for gaming don't see features and policies that PC has as practical for a console. This is what Xbox One possesses and it has failed to impress console gamers.

If I want to game online, I do it mostly on PC. I love my single player games and don't want to be forced online for them. That is where the PS4 will come in. Plus, the PS4 doesn't have all of that gimmicky all-in-one crap the Xbox One does and doesn't impede numerous restrictions on me. Also, Titanfall will be on PC as I'm sure Halo 5 will be as well.
