Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that characters in the Wii U version of Smash Bros will be "reduced" so that they can pull off all the same moves and content on the 3DS's hardware. Gimme Gimme Games writes about how this worries them and how it makes them wish the two games were developed separately instead of together.
NetherRealm confirms its Mortal Kombat franchise has sold over 80 million copies in the last 30 years, and here's how it competes against other fighters.
Don't care what anyone says, Smash isn't a traditional fighting game. May as well call Powerstone and Playstation All Stars fighting games. They're more of an arena fighter /party game.
Including Smash Bros in a list of fighting games, is like including GTA in Racing games.
The designer of the original Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 shows us the prototype that started it all.
Kim writes: "Super Smash Bros. will not be shown at Evo 2022, this year's biggest fighting game event. The Sony-owned sports organization announced the loss of the platformer in a statement on Twitter today, and seemed to blame the decision on Nintendo, which has historically tried to control how their games appear in the wild."
In away this hurts Nintendo Smash Bros has some dedicated fans. What better way to help build hype and sell more of the game then showcasing it at EVO.
For goodness sake, then they shouldn't of done a handheld version then. The 3DS has plenty of games now, they could of done a handheld version futher down the line.
How disappointing
Well that's....really disappointing...
Don't do it Nintendo! got damn it...
You guys are looking at it from the wrong angle. Reducing the amount of characters doesn't hold back anything anything. If anything, it could make balancing the game a lot easier.
I don't care about having 100 characters in the game. 25-30 is plenty. I care about balance more than sheer about of characters.
The less time they spend on making characters is the more time they spend on balancing the game, working on the online mode, and perfecting the extra modes.
And for those saying there shouldn't be a 3DS version....that's just silly. The 3DS is the fastest selling console ever. Nintendo would be stupid not to put the game on 3DS. So many people are going to buy both versions.
They'll make more money, thus they'll do it. Super Smash on the move sounds pretty fun to me.
