Here in the United States, we've seen English releases of every Ace Attorney game to date—except for one. Ace Attorney Investigations 2, the sequel to the spinoff that put you in the prosecuting pants of the stylish Miles Edgeworth (as opposed to Phoenix Wright, the hotshot lawyer who stars in most of the Ace Attorney games), never made it to the West in any form.
A team of hard-working fans, after years of effort, has finally translated Ace Attorney: Investigations 2 - Prosecutor's Path in English and the patch is now available for download.
The oprainfall staff select the 10 games they would like to see release outside of Japan one day.
BT writes: In this day and age, fan translations exist for just about every video game worth playing. Emulation is bigger than ever, even going so far as to support an entire console with only the promise of illicit ROMs. English speakers exist in a constant state of choice overload. Yet I am not satisfied.
There are still plenty of titles that I would love to see given proper, official localizations in North America. I’m sure many of you would rather support talented translation team like XSEED Games as well, so let’s take a moment to highlight the gems that Japan continues to keep to itself.
Idunno why they just dont kickstart their games if cost is an issue. Kickstarter shows people will throw money on lots of various things and raise hundred thousands of dollars.
DARN IT Sega! Time to localize some shining force games!
We haven't seen one localized since the ps2 days and those were action rpgs and not what shining force is all about, tactical strategy and great power struggle plots.
I seriously loved the first Investigations game, but somehow I never knew an Investigations 2 came out. Sucks how we may never get it :(
Stupid companies. Releasing an already created game in English is not going to lose money. They'd break even at worst, and at least please their existing fans, possibly get new ones, or even have a break-out hit.
Look at the past; Fire Emblem for example. Nintendo did not think we would like it, but they released it and we love it. Don't dictate what we want, just give it to us.
