Will Titanfall ever come to PlayStation? Respawn and EA weigh in

I agree with you, The first 30 secs of the Titanfall trailer seemed like any random fps game with mediocre graphics (compared with what I've seen) but then I saw that it had a very solid and fun gameplay, the game seems intereting.

I didn't see anything in the gameplay that made me have to have it. I've never liked mechs in games, and admittedly, this looks far from the sluggish and slow mechs, but everything else just looks like another sci fi shooter. I didn't feel any immersion or purpose in what I was watching.

I care, a lot. I've been waiting since West and Zampella left Activision for a true and proper arcadey fps that only the original creators of Call of Duty (cod2 and mw1 were some of the best mp fps games I've ever played) can provide, because every cod after MW2 was complete shit, and even MW2 had a lot of problems.

I was bummed out when I found out it was exclusive to Xbox One (well, and pc, but there aren't a lot of shooters I like on PC).

I'm betting PS4 will still get it eventually, as it's EA, and EA never keeps something exclusive to one console FOREVER. I'll probably have to wait a year after the game launches for a PS4 port, which will be hard, but yeah, I still really want it.

Besides, this isn't just another generic typical fps. I'm not saying it's completely unique, but it does look pretty fresh as far as FPS go.

this game is an experiment with DRM, If this somehow works out for EA then the floodgates will open up with other publishers signing in.

the XB1 is the trojan horse and TitanFall is the Greek soldiers inside it.

and from the interview he gave every hint it will come to the PS4 short of saying "yes" outright.

seeing this game is also on 360+PC I don't see it as a big game changer especially with all the baggage that comes with the XB1.

Just be real people it's not that hard to admit M$ paid for exclusivity, I mean the Xbox One and PS4 are near identical since both use the same AMD CPU's and GPU's (although the PS4 uses a more powerful GPU).

This game can be ported over easily, so it's not a problem of quality and quantity. It's a problem of $$$$$.

Every game this gen can easily run on the opposite console, the only difference is maxed out PS4 games will have to be scaled back a bit for the Xbox One, and the decision to make that graphically, resolution wise, or FPS.

Don't start the developer BS, there's too many PC gamers out here that can now give concrete information to console gamers about their consoles, and you can't BS us.

Any 3rd arty exclusive Sony or ms got are only timed exclusives. MS paid $50 million for GRA dlc I would love to know how big of a check they had to write for this? Patcher said MS had to cove the expected sales of the game selling on ps4, so lets say 3-5 million damn that's a lot of money

Just like final fantssy vs or whatever its called now is coming to xboxone ans wel as kingdom hearts all confirmed. Ms brought the games and has the exact same trade in policys at gamestop as sony. Sony already confirmed used games are up to the pubs as eell as ms has said the same and they dont receice a penny from then. This has all been confirmed. Now the price is one of the main diffrences as ms is shoving kinect down are throats or they would be close to the samd price. The other diffrence is singleplayer games can only be played offline for 24 hrs. Gifting is also restricted to one person. Other than that things may change and for ms I sure hope they take the 24 hour thing away and its also sounds like ms is using the cloud to build more powerfull games. It's like the folks who were never impressed with Halo and thought Bungie was overrated... but now that Destiny is PS3/PS4-bound, Bungie is incredible. They've always been incredible and Halo was always awesome. Some folks just can't get past brand loyalty.

Titanfall is a game I want on PS4. It looks great. I think games of this type will be supported a lot longer through content vs annual releases this next generation. We've already seen that commitment from Bungie and I expect others to follow. Titanfall should be ripe for awesome times when it hits PS4.

What hes saying is they're a new and small studio working on Titanfall and they wanna put it on as many platforms as possible makes sense.

PC is huge community, the 360's install base is pretty big and the XO is main console for this next gen title (besides PC)

In other words as soon as the team gets bigger, and if the game succeeds, future Titanfall sequels will be released on PS4 eventually.

But in the mean time, they're only working with MS console and technology. A PS4 version is still possible but no plans for it right now.

So yes, Xbox fans can still call it a console exclusive.

Yeh, titanfall was probably the most impressive game shown, definitely as far as fun factor goes it did it for me. I was playing COD4 last night in some hacked lobby where gravity is set really low. Reminded me of titanfall minus the mechs. Great fun though!

Unfortunately MS have made kinect mandatory which pushes up the price and have taken their ridiculous stance on used games and DRM otherwise I probably would have gotten the xbox now that PS multiplayer is no longer free and MGS is multi-plat. As it stands, I'll just hope titanfall comes to ps4 at a later date.

Once again will people stop saying Dead Rising series lol. Dead Rising 1, Dead Rising 2:Case West and Case Zero are still Xbox exclusives. Yes! TitanFall may release on PS4 in the near future, but my bet is that it would be released as a sequel or GOTY edition. Although, I did invest in Atari Jaguar just for Alien vs Predator lol. I refuse to miss out on a game I think is awesome over brand loyalty. Even if Titanfall is ready to go on PS4 and just held back due to an exclusivity deal with Microsoft, you know Microsoft will have given EA and the devs enough money to stay silent on the matter, so as not to damage what they're getting out of the deal. We saw this happen numerous times in the current generation.

The PS4 release is a certainty as far as I'm concerned.

The EA guy's comment at the end was essentially that he could neither confirm nor deny that this would be coming to the PS4. That pretty much tells you that yep, it's a timed exclusive.

It'll be interesting to see when the PS4 version drops. As a general rule, people don't tend to go back and pick up old multiplayer games. It's one thing to go back and play Bioshock or Mass Effect when exclusivity runs out, but would I want to pick up a year old (or six month old or whatever) MP-only game when there's other stuff out there competing for my time? Not sure.

It is a no brain type of thing it is a timed exclusive. The problem with timed exclusives is you loose that other systems mind share. By the time it is released on the PS4 I don't really think people will care to much. Unless they get it out in the first year window they will not make much on it. It is kind of disappointing all these people that have looked forward to what Respawn has been working on and yet again people get shafted.

Its coming late 2014, mark my words. Just think about it the PS4 will out sell the Xbox One for sure, Gamestop will push more games on the PS4 because they'll be able to sell used games on it, so games like Battlefield and other EA games will sell like crazy on PS4 over the Xbox One. Not matter what EA can not ignor the PS4. Titanfall will be out late 2014 in time for the holiday sales.

Just play it on a 360 or PC bypassing Xbox One altogether and leave that space for a PS4. Sacrificing Halo (I will miss you) is a small price to pay compared to the money you will waste on an Xbox One, Two, Three strikes your out.

Mark my words... Titanfall will come to PS4!
Its an new IP... and I know that they want this franchise to grow, and the best way to do that would be to have it on both consoles. Also PS4 sales in the first and second year will have a lot to do with what happens. PS4 starts to get a bigger user base than X1 then it makes it even more definite.

Titanfall looked good...but nothing to cry home over. My guess is that it will eventually find it's why to the PS4. Just as FFXV and Kingdom Hearts 3 will find themselves on the Xbox One. Which is sad I thought they were exclusives.

Wow, really? This is absolutely PR speak to gloss over the reality that they will bring this to Playstation 4 in probably 1 year from the Xbox One launch.

The writing is on the wall. It isn't hard to interpret PR speak, we've seen these exact kind of obvious phrases before when developers couldn't explain that they have a timed exclusive deal with Microsoft.

Yeah, that's incredibly obvious. If it wasn't a timed exclusive contract, they would have just said it's exclusive to Xbox One, there is no PS4 version planned, and that would be that.

EA do not do system exclusives that's all I know and I heard MS claim exclusivity and It's only been timed exclusive before so I would not trust them.

Look at all the money they payed Rockstar for GTA4 episodes and that still was only timed exclusive yet they made out to be purely exclusive.

The way I see it is unless a company is publishing or co funding a project then it's never secure as an exclusive.

I will get it for PC anyway and as above hopefully dead Rising 3 too, you know how Capcom like the rehash and re release games after 6 months to a year and once they see the size of the PS4 install base they will not be able to resist easy money.

For me PC+PS4, MS and Ninty can wait for my coin.

Titanfall is going to be for the X1, what Gears of war was for the 360... IF Microsoft was really smart they would keep it an exclusive and not a timed exclusive. The fast paced gameplay looked great and the Mechs adds a new element. I definitely will buy this for my PS4...

I'm pretty sure both Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall will be on PS4, maybe a year later.

Which is great because I will be able to take a lot of the Battlefield 4 juice and will get a good/new arcade-y shooter if I want to slow down the BF4 pace.

If this game was shown for the PS4, there would be a lot more people hyping it up. So a game like Killzone is awesome, but a game like Titanfall is boring because it's another FPS. Last time I checked KZ was just another FPS as well.

Face it, the game looks good. If you don't want to play it then fine, but don't put it down because you don't enjoy those style of games. Graphics looked good, loved the idea of these mech suits. Going to make online MP very frantic and exciting.

Since I am not getting an XB1 (or PS4) until next year, I will definitely be playing this on my PC instead.

C'mon is an EA's product of course the game would be at PS4, Titanfall is a time exclusive game like at its time was Mass Effect and Bioshock, some pages are talking about that this exclusivity is of only one year and after that the game could be launched for PS4. PS4 doesn't need it now, there a lot of FPS for PS4: Killzone, Battlefield, Planetside, The order, warframe, COD, Destiny, Wolfestein, Blacklight, Mirror's edge 2, etc.
