If this comes as that big a shock, you haven't been paying attention for very long.

Xof3969d ago

...Had they even announced the expansion pack yet?

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3969d ago

Nope. They delayed the non-existent.

wita3969d ago

Interesting. I wonder how the players feel about this.

I don't feel anything much, I still play D3 once a week or so and still enjoy it, maybe they're delaying it so they can have simultaneous release across all platforms including the new consoles. If PS4 is getting Diablo III as well as The Elder Scrolls Online I'll probably get both when I buy the console...which given the state of my finances will most likely be next year anyway.

'The delay is a big deal because expansion packs can generate a lot of revenue for the company'

Unless you're Blizzard, and you know that your customers appreciate quality and are willing to pay for games that are released when they are actually ready.

JsonHenry3969d ago

LOL! Which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of the unfinished state that Diablo was released in.

illegalyouth3969d ago

Yeah, this is the first I'm hearing about a Diablo III expansion. Blizzard's motto is "it's done when it's done," anyway, so ... are we really surprised?

I think I made it to like level 25 before I dropped the game as a monk. I got tired of getting gear for a class that wasn't mine.

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein83d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

shinoff218383d ago

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Palitera392d ago

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33391d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
