Game News - Shadowrun Returns - Blackman 'N Robin

Shadowrun Returns is a title that many don’t know about to be frank, and it make sense why. The original title came out around 1993 on the Super Nintendo acquiring great scores from all of the reviewers of the time, and acquiring the 48th best game on any Nintendo platform by Nintendo Power around 1997. Soon after, another game called Shadowrun was released on the Sega Genesis, but seemed to be more of a sequel taking place years after the first title, but not acquiring the same attention as the first one. Sadly, by 2007, the Shadowrun franchise seemed to have dug their own graves with the announcement of a first-person shooter known as Shadowrun, developed by FASA Interactive and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360 along with the PC.

One of my most expected games for this year. On steam it says it's going to be released this month :)

Jourdy2883971d ago

Never played the original but this looks awesome :D

I'm excited about the map creator/editor.

People can basically write/create endless scenarios and stories within the game.

caseh3971d ago

Yeah same here, i'm gonna re-create the nightclub from the SNES game. :D

Sadly I can't find a clip on the tube but I can still remember the music all these years later.

Murad3971d ago

It totally does, I'm super hyped up fro the game, especially because the weird first-person shooter game called Shadowrun just didn't cut it out for me.

MooseWI3971d ago

I spent a good amount of time on Shadowrun. Was pretty fun, if it is more polished this time around it could be a good hitter. Still have the game somewhere around this house..

cunnilumpkin3971d ago

cannot wait for this game, looks amazing, been following the dev talks and youtube gameplay

it looks epic!

Murad3971d ago

Totally agree, and I'm looking forward to actually just getting the same feeling for it that I did the original.

dendenmooshi3971d ago

Nice, nice nice. I hope they do the cybertech gameplay and companions justice.

I miss that game and I can't wait!

ShadowRun - An Xbox 360 Classic Left to Rot

ShadowRun arrived in 2007 and is still played by a core audience on modern consoles and PC today, despite a bungled launch.

coolbeans116d ago

Played it a few months back. Not a stellar mp game at its time, but still genuine & janky fun.

Sciurus_vulgaris115d ago

I have never played Shadowrun. However, the universe of Shadowrun seems like a good setting for various game genres. The franchise combines traditional fantasy tropes with cyberpunk science fiction.

Rebel_Scum115d ago

Yeah since the megadrive game I’ve always thought how cool the setting and premise is but the game never really delivers on gameplay.

ocelot07115d ago (Edited 115d ago )

Really enjoyed this back on 360. Was one of the first pc games I played as well. Nice to see it's still online I'm going to have to see about getting a copy on pc again.

Edit: is this backward compatible with series X?

Gcayton1115d ago

Fun game... just not Shadowrun.

porkChop115d ago

The Shadowrun RPGs from Harebrained Schemes were great, but that IP is just begging for a massive, Cyberpunk 2077-style game. Open world action RPG epic with a healthy dose of immersive sim goodness.

shinoff2183112d ago

That could turn out really good for real.

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer143d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog142d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned143d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c143d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb142d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies143d ago (Edited 143d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal143d ago (Edited 143d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72142d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman142d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos142d ago (Edited 142d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows142d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.

Shadowrun 2007 almost had a System Shock-style singleplayer campaign

But Microsoft said no.

XiNatsuDragnel255d ago

I'm not surprised I hope if Microsoft is more open to these things.

anast253d ago

That would have been fun, so they said no.
