"However, Nintendo won’t be going out without a fight. While they’re skipping the traditional press conference this year, the company confirmed that they’ll be showing new entries in their most blockbuster series — a 3D Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros. will all be making their Wii U debuts at E3 in June. For good measure, we’ll be seeing more of Pikmin 3 there, too.
With all of that in mind, allow us to humbly suggest what we want to see from each game in two weeks. Feel free to tell us what you want to see out of these games in the comments below." - Joe Garcia
Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
Hanzla from eXputer inquires: "If Xbox can care about preserving its games and legacy, what exactly is wrong with Nintendo, trying to kill game preservation single-handedly?"
Ahh yes the good old game preservation of saving all your games to a removable hhd on the Xbox 360, taking it round your mates house, setting up multiple tvs to
Be met with “save data corrupted, please re download”
Or how about removing 360 games
From the store
, download them now or else, and, better hope to god that save data doesn’t corrupt, or it’s lost for ever
Nice one ☝️
This is just a scammy PR move to distract from the fact they are going digital only and trying to push streaming and subscriptions only.
No gaming company has pushed harder to remove ownership than Microsoft.
Without discs there is no preservation, preservation can't be done by the rights holders it can only be done by the consumers, anything else is a lie.
Nobody wants this. Sales or the lack of it in the case of XBOX is very telling. I wonder how the adorably all digital series X will fare. Adorably dismal perhaps?
Only time will tell, but for from someone like me suspecting that Xbox is trying to gracefully exit the console market, that "forward compatibility" team is trying to get Xbox games playing on Windows PCs. I mean, it's nice that they're not planning on exiting with a "enjoy your games while the hardware still works" message, so that's nice. They still have a brand to protect via Microsoft so probably feel obligated to have a better exit strategy.
Danish from eXputer: "Nintendo has historically gone against player-made content and emulation of its games. This has done much to harm the company's image."
They need to stop announcing these mods and fan remakes until they're finished. Finish it, upload it, and then if Nintendo dmca's it tough shit. Once it's online, people can share it around, even if the original download gets taken down.
This is all coming from the mouth of short-sighted fandom and grifting madness.
No.... it wont. There is a clear defined reason why they don't. This is nothing new. Make your own shi7 from your own original ideas especially if you are trying to capitalize of it it. Duh.
Yeah, hire people that have zero respect or understanding for an established process. Wow. Yep. Totally makes sense.
I really want to see The HD legend of Zelda and Next 3D mario, but I what I want to see the most right now is Retro's new project.
Monolith's X, Bayonetta2, and Yarn Yoshi.
My hopes for Pikmin 3:
That it's good. That's it really. I've never played any other Pikmin games so I don't really have anything to say about it.
Hopes for Mario Kart:
That it's a Double Dash!! sequel, and MK64's Rainbow Road is included.
Hopes for Super Smash Brothers:
CDs either appear less rarely or last more than 3 seconds, and the Classic and All-Star modes go back to how they were in Melee. Also, a whole bunch of other minor stuff like certain characters and stages.
Hopes for Zelda:
I think it be cinda cool if they had you play as a Link from a past game. But not Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess, one from before Wind Waker, maybe even one from before OoT.
Hopes for Mario:
1st off, I just gotta say, I just made that SMG2 image my desktop background. Seriously, just look at it, it's not even a game on an HD console, and it's breathtaking. Maybe that's just me, I don't know. Anyway, I don't really have any hopes for the new Mario game either, except being good of coarse. But how could it possibly be bad? It can't.
Screw all that. Show me shin megami tensei X fire emblem
What I want to see:
- Show off all previously announced first party games. All I need from them are trailers and release dates
- Show off unannounced first and third party games
- Show off at least one new third part exclusive that'll cause a bigger shitstorm than Bayonetta
- Highlight indie titles. Nintendo has been doing a great job getting indie devs on board. Now just do the opposite of Microsoft and like Sony let indie devs shine
- Retro. Prime 4. 'Nuff said.
- New features for Wii U like achievements and cross game chat
- Price drop with a new ad champaign and marketing push
Again it may sound lofty but it can be done and Nintendo has delivered in the past and hopefully will in two weeks. Until then all we can do is hope and wait.
