The demo was fun, although I'm kind of disappointed they left out auto-leaning around corners from Bound in Blood (which was pretty fluid in that game). Also wonder if they will continue to use this art style in future CoJ games, or go back to the more realistic look.

theres a demo? (PSN)
I need to try this game...looks like fun.

Dr Pepper3983d ago

I played the demo/trial on Live, but it wasn't there right away when the game was made available for DL. So if it isn't on PSN at the moment, it might be soon.

There is a leaning feature. I have the full game, in the video above you can see it when he gets inside the house and is given the rifle for a brief second (the player doesnt really use the cover system that is given)

Dr Pepper3983d ago

I still didn't see it when I watched that part (don't really want to watch past where the demo ends in case I buy it). I was more referring to the auto-lean though (when you got right to the edge of an object, which worked pretty well), as opposed to just any lean feature.

Since you have bought it, can you say anything about the game's length? I heard 2 hours from one source, and 6 hours from some other comment.

The game can be short I spent an hour on the first episode which comprised of 2-3 missions. Factor in for collectibles(3-4 each map) and three difficulties (one unlockable) and the fact that Hard Mode is a pain in the dick(at least with the quick draws. Its about Blood Dragon Length.

Also, factor in the three different skilltrees so essentially three ways to play the game (albeit minor changes). I say its worth it if you really are looking for that true Juarez experience that the first two games gave you.

Thanks for the info, might have to pick it up. Not too many old west games available, and it's good to see the series seemingly back on the right track after...whatever The Cartel was.

It is a fun game and I love how the world changes around you as the narrator tells the story and lies about how things went down to liven things up for his audience.

poppatron269d ago

I’m pretty sure that’s not what people were saying when it first released. If it was better received we’d probably of seen a sequel.

isarai268d ago

Actually it got a lot of praise from the few people who did review it, problem was the franchise had by then already burned it's reputation to ashes, this game was a final flashy firework before it was snuffed for those that stuck around. It was too little too late.

Duel in this was nerve wracking never seen a better game that nailed the focus and feel of tension of gun duel since.
Sound design was amazing as well.
Very fun western shooter.

Bad list ! But shooters aren’t the reason anyone buys a Switch

FreeckyCake439d ago (Edited 439d ago )

Why is it bad? Plus, I never mentioned in the article that shooters are the reason people buy a Switch.
