Xbox One’s Messaging An Awful Mess

It’s been a long night. The past few hours have been hectic as hell. At the time of writing it’s been about six hours since we learnt that the next generation of Xbox was called the Xbox One. Microsoft spent an hour showing off the a new Kinect, a new controller, some exclusive content, some games and the box itself. However, the most confusing parts have come in the hours following the end of the live press conference.

agreed, amazing though the big media companies are not covering this

No one's bleeding, dying, been robbed of their country or lost their life savings (so far) behind this, so of course "big media companies" aren't covering this.

Besides I don't need a big media company to tell me that the XBOXONE reveal was a late term abortion. The big media companies/corporate raiders don't want to hurt each other. It's not part of the brotherhood code so yeah you probably won't hear much from them since they are all connected and all about the money especially in the States.

No offence to you because I understand what you are saying, but big media never covered any of that so we could see that in America (assuming you are from there). The first two are censored, the next two are only reported after the fact; not covering significant acts while it happens (like the S&L scandal/Enron or talking about the Patriot Act before it got renewed, so you could write your representative to tell them to let it expire).

The fallout of news on the Xboner is so confusing. I was really hoping for all the rumors to be put to rest with this conference but instead unclear answers are given which lead to the creation of more rumors.

One message they sent loud and clear: Games are not their primary focus.

As if it was any surprise

They've been priming for this the last few years. As a gamer it's hard to get excited for it, especially with all the negative features it has. It's one thing to go for a multimedia focus, but when you are anti-consumer at the same time you have something wrong on your hands.

Rainbow Cotton Interview: Lead Programmer Sheds Light on the Dreamcast Remake

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "If you haven't played Rainbow Cotton before, you're not alone. A Dreamcast exclusive released only in Japan, it's not exactly a household name. Looking to change that, and bring the sixth-gen game back into the spotlight, is German studio KRITZELKRATZ 3000, which — with the backing of publisher ININ and original developer SUCCESS — has remade the 3D shoot-'em-up from the ground up. Featuring several modern quality-of-life upgrades, plus HD graphics and a brand new local co-op mode, it promises to merge the past and present when it launches digitally on consoles and PC on May 9.

Ahead of the game's release, I chatted with Andreas Scholl, technical director at KRITZELKRATZ 3000 and lead programmer for Rainbow Cotton, about what fans can expect from the remake."
