The Last of Us: Now I Have to Buy a PS3

Gi - Steadily it approaches…the June 14 release date for The Last of Us. The war between wallet and wants intensifies within me as I confront the realization that The Last of Us is a PlayStation 3 exclusive. I have not owned a PS3 in years. How could I have let this happen? I’m unemployed with no money to spare but I need this game, this survival action-adventure horror game set to deliver everything I have ever wanted in a game. I look at the calendar, I look at my bank account, I look in my heart. I have to buy a PS3.

Yeah, there are plenty of reasons to buy a PS3. The Last of Us is one more to a healthy list of exclusives. At least late adopters have a huge back catalog at reasonable prices to choose from.

Unfortunate as it may be, some people can only afford 1 console. That said, if you're dedicated to gaming enough you'll find a way to own all of them. Even moreso if there's games like TLOU to motivate you :D

This shouldn't have been the deciding factor to get a PS3. MGS4 back in 2008 should have been. Heck, even Uncharted back in 2007 should have been.

My first PS3 was the MGS4 bundle. I've bought two more since then. One for my wife, and a replacement for when my FAT died. When my FAT died, I went to Best Buy that evening (Eve of Christmas Eve) and bought a new one. I couldn't go 24 hours without it :D Damn shame that it had to die the day before Christmas Eve. I grabbed the last one in stock, and fought through the crowds... I never go to retail... I buy almost everything online (with groceries and gas being a couple of obvious exceptions).

I know what u mean...I had 2 fat PS3s & they both died 2yrs apart & I bought a 3rd one,when each one broke I couldn't wait 24hrs without replacing one.

Hell yeah InTheLab. That was my first game I played for the PS3. What great memories! Can't wait for the first game I will play with the PS4! The unboxing and hooking it up. I can't freaking wait! It's like being a kid on Christmas all over again.

My reason to buy a PS3 was Resistance: Fall of Man. It's still one of the best multi-player experiences I've ever had! I love it!

The Last of Us is in a league of its own. It will be a big console seller. Though people who don't own a PS3 will be faced with a decision. Do they buy PS3 or PS4?

My PS3 broke over a year ago, and I've just been gaming on my PC since. The Last of US and and Beyond: Two Souls are the two games that really made me think about buying a new PS3.

However, I think I'm just gonna get a PS4 whenever it comes out instead. In all likelihood, they are going to re-release these two games in Full-HD down the line on the PS4, or they are going to be emulated through the streaming service.

My MGS system shit the bed 2 months ago and I have been very reluctant to take advantage of the Sony swap out for $125! TLOU is the only title I would like to play before thenPS4 arrives! It's going to be tough but ill be waiting as to not spend $175 to play one game! IMO this dude should just wait for the "4"

Just go to your friend's house, and play the game. You know the one with the better console, wife, car, kids, dog, and home. If I was your friend. I would sent you an invite. I would help you save money. Maybe, just maybe. You'll get the right system next time.

Hmmm to the author: Why just now?? the last of us is just "one" of the many reasons to own a PS3. I bought mine back in 2008 because I don't want to waste time waiting!! recently I just bought a new slim PS3 just in case something happens to my Old fat PS3. There's a saying: "If there is a will, theres a way" and "if you want something, you have ways, but if you don't like something you have many excuses". But Better late than never!! so its still a good thing for you to buy a PS3, Cheers dude!!
