Rumor: Naughty Dog Has Finished The Last of Us

The most eagerly awaited PlayStation 3 exclusive of 2013 is officially finished. At least, that’s what’s suggested by an Instagram picture from Naughty Dog Co-President Christophe Balestra.

Only one of those shots is in-game and it doesn't look that great.

I really think people are hyping this game way too much, I very much doubt it will match the hype and it will probably leave everyone disappointed.

The games that will win the majority of GOTY awards are Bioshock Infinite, GTA V and maybe Watch Dogs (hopefully Tomb Raider too). I doubt TLoU will dominate this year against amazing competition, should win a lot of best PS3 GOTY awards unless Beyond Two Souls is amazing.

I highly doubt your comment sir. Bioshock infinite is a great game. But you are already judging a game that hasn't come out yet. Weird because GTAV and watch dogs hasn't come out either and your already saying its GOTY. There's no reason to be butthurt because this game has the most hype in it.

Its one of those few games that will warrant buying a ps3. Given the track record naughty dog set this gen with uncharted, another system selling franchise, this game should be brilliant.

It looks like a freakin PS4 game, the lighting is just beyond this gen. I love how they MacGyver anything random into useful stuff. It's like synthesizing in jrpgs, I don't see how this game could possibly disappoint.

cl1983 - NBA Elite 11 went gold, only a few PS3 copies were made available to purchase on eBay after it got canceled lol. That game was completely broken after that viral video of the Jesus players in the demo.

Given its May 15th I sure as h*ll hope they are either done with it or very close to being done with it. I mean it hits store shelves on 6/14 so I would think this is cutting it pretty close in terms of deadlines for production/packaging and shipping out the complete game in box.

im waiting for it to drop to 30 bucks especially if its as linear as Uncharted. after UC 1 i didnt pay full price for UC 2&3 cuz they have no replay value the same shit happens every time. these linear 6 hour games are not worth 60 bucks

Anywho, what's so great about this game? From what I've HEARD, and what I've pieced together, it just sounds like a run of the mill survival horror game.

At least have the courtesy to fill me in, as my circumstances to watch any videos on it are pretty dim.

Looking at your profile, I'm going to assume you're a single console owner. If that is indeed the case, then your question is very short-sighted. Naughty Dog doesn't make "run of the mill" games, and had you played any of them from this generation alone, you would understand that. Their combination of story telling, graphics and gameplay have been second to none this gen, so what you "heard" obviously wasn't correct.

If you haven't played Uncharted or really any of NG past games then you most likely won't be to excited for this. I also wouldn't call this your run of the mill survival horror since we don't get to much those today which a lot seem to want and now were getting one. This is also something from new from them and their first time trying to make a survival horror style game.
