InFamous Second Son: Was Choosing Good A Bad Decision?

WC - When Second Son was revealed earlier this year, it wasn’t just the spirits of InFamous fans, and Playstation fans, that it raised. With InFamous 2 sporting two (very different) endings, it also raised a very interesting, very crucial question. Where does Second Son fit into the InFamous universe? Is it a prequel? Would one of the two ending be considered as canon? Or would the developers venture down a new path entirely?

I can see why people who only played the bad ending might consider the choice of good as canon to be a disappointment but you have to consider part of what makes the InFamous games great, power.

A big part of the fun of InFamous, at least for me, was the feeling that you were a superhero/villan with great power in a modern day open world setting. If the bad ending was to be canon we would be a powerful guy in a world full of powerful guys, it just wouldn't feel the same

I believe they could have continued the Cole Trilogy because in the end of infamous 2 good ending Cole's boat back home (after his death) it was shocked by lightning. now my thought is that the sudden shock of the lightning could have brought him back to life, BUT it woud have killed Zeke (if you remember Zeke died in the end of the EVIL ending and Cole got The Beast's powers) now that Zeke is dead Cole goes insanely EVIL and blaming himself
AND the lightning strike could have had some of The Beast's power. And Cole could have the power of Kessler in the end of the game and starts to blame himself and goes back in time to do what Kessler did in the first game. Thats TWO thoughts for INFAMOUS 3 AND INFAMOUS 4. Just a Thought. ^_^

Wow that would have been one of the worst written ways to extent a character ever. A man is so happy Suckerpunch didn't force it with that stretching ending.

it could be a prequel to infamous 1, Cole's father could have been working on a Ray Sphere prototype that went horribly wrong OR a Government "ACCIDENT" (Meaning big underground Government cover up or a perfect test run for BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION OR BWMD for short) And another theory is that Cole is dead and his father had TWO SONS OR Moya (From Infamous 1) cloned Cole in a Government Lab.
Just a Thought. ^_^

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM94d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88126d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183125d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie124d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
