not sure if I dig either the first person approach or the design. I mean, I grew up playing Mega Man as the young blue boy, but this kinda reminds me of that Bomberman game that got released on the 360 console. This is simply another example of Capcom trying to turn one of their games into the next Halo because there's a market for that in the US. I think Capcom needs to stop dipping their feet into areas they are not familiar with whether they are doing it themselves or hiring others to design it for them. I am glad they canned this game. There are far better ways to reboot, revive, branch out Mega man instead of copying Metroid.

Ha, this game looked laughably generic. This is a worse butchering than DmC.

jc485733999d ago

DmC has to be by far one of the biggest controversy. People say it's better than previous DMC games (in what ways? please tell) and critics praise it for being more accessible this time around, so I really don't get what they are smoking cause I really don't see anything special about it. It's like I've played games like it, so I don't understand why it would warrant high scores. The biggest question of all, have you asked the fans if this is the direction they want? Is this even the right way to "reboot" a series? You are taking some steps backward just to do what? Makes not sense whatsoever when you apply the questions to DmC, but people have all kinds of reason to defend it.

PopRocks3593999d ago

People can like what they want and DmC is no exception. If there are people who want to defend DmC, let them. That's their opinion.

But in my view, DmC was an absolute travesty of a bullcrap reboot. The characters were horribly written and the game itself was so broken and watered down it felt almost like an entirely different game. At best the game looked somewhat pretty and that's all it had going for it.

Maybe next time Capcom will think twice before dishing out such a big "F!@# YOU" to their fans, considering the game wasn't anywhere near sales expectations, selling abysmally when compared to the rest of the series, including DMC4.

I find that the praise is from analysing the game objectively, whereas the hate is from analysing it subjectively.

Lets assume DmC was retitled, with different character names, but keeping everything else the same, it would be considered a great game. But the fact its associated with their beloved franchise, and has been changed alot, fans are upset about it.

That robot thing is beyond generic.

Looks like every other person in a game this gen.

PopRocks3593999d ago

Actually I'd say it's a mix of all of that and that really terrible Bomberman Act Zero design. In other words, no creativity, no effort, no interest. Just more boring generic and unlikeable crap.

Counting Resident Evil 6, DmC and now this, you'd have to wonder how many IPs made by their former devs they plan on butchering.

true...it is like mix of generic versions of other things.

Top 10 Games We’re Happy Got Cancelled

Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "Sometimes, a game getting cancelled is actually a blessing in disguise that either helps the developer or game series reach new heights with what actually does come next or just saves our time and money by keeping what would obliviously have been a bad time lost forever."

You're happy for the lay offs too?

PiNkFaIrYbOi1716d ago

Why would anyone be happy about any game being cancelled?

okay, I'll bite.
I friggin adored Arkane's version of Prey (it's basically the spiritual successor to System Shock that we never got) but I would have loved to see the bounty hunter iteration of the sequel as well, perhaps as it's own IP.

Scalebound for me was happy it got canned , the concept seemed picked out of a hat lol terrible.

Do not forget the X-Com FPS that looked great but did not come to be.

DiaperFace3124d ago

^ And similarly, Rebelstar 2: The Meklon Conspiracy. The first on GBA is such an overlooked, underrated gem. 9.5/10.

Retroman3124d ago (Edited 3124d ago )

"Top 5 cancelled video games" that list incorrect .

lets start with cancelled games from Snes up to now, that we old skool gamers have waited for for years only to find out it was cancelled.
