But I heard the game was great. :)

Chrono3996d ago

They should try to localize ToX2 next year.

Nate-Dog3996d ago

I'm pretty sure they'll just wait and see how the first one does before considering that. Especially since by then the PS4 and most likely the new Xbox will be out by then so they might prefer to move to a new project, but Baba did say previously they they currently have no plans to move to the PS4 just yet so maybe I'm wrong.

fermcr3996d ago (Edited 3996d ago )

Maybe they better star thinking at multiplatform games.... instead of exclusive games.

A exclusive game from a 3rd party developer is only good business for the console manufacturer ... but it's definitely not good business for the developer or publisher.

tarbis3996d ago (Edited 3996d ago )

lol, TTT2 did not meet the expected sales target and it is a multiplat game. Run for Money Tousouchuu is a 3DS exclusive game but it exceeded sales expectation. Your argument is invalid.

Baka-akaB3996d ago (Edited 3996d ago )

Xillia 2 as a multi platform would have been a stupid idea seeing how the first game is an exclusive , and xillia 2 is a direct sequel .

It wouldnt sell on 360 anyway without a western release and those are always in the air and sadly on a case by case basis with the serie .

What harmed Xillia 2 are the astonishing and frankly not that expected sales of the first game . it lead them to expect a bit more .

Notice how Namco isnt actually that dissapointed 500k for a direct tales of sequel is actally quite great . And they'll reach and going beyond the originalt arget once they release a western version .

Tekken tag 2 ? i can only speak from my own experience . I found the game excellent , but unlike before where i'd spend half a year trying to truly master it , at at least attempt to ... with the current fighting game market , i only spent like 2-3 months .

It's well crafted but besides balance changes and the tag system , it's lacking anything new for veteran to decypher , and remains hermetic and close to beginners . Ironically Tekken wouldnt be very easy for newcomers to grasp if well explained , but something keep them away .

Maybe the smart way for the next tekken would be to have finally a real story mode that could compel newbies long enough to play for them to realize it's easy and accchievable . Fancy training modes whatever the game arent the way , people just love to skip those

Inception3996d ago

@fermcr

FYI
- Tekken Tag 1 is exclusive for PS2 but sales are much higher (4.65 million ww) than the multiplat Tekken Tag 2.

- Tales of Destiny 1 is exlclusive for PS1 and that still the best selling Tales (1,1 million ww) in Tales history. Second best selling is Tales of Destiny 2 also exclusive to PS2. Compare it to the sells of multiplat Tales of Vesperia or Graces f, Tales of Destiny 1 & 2 are beating them to the floor ^^
But regarding of sales, all of those Tales had great quality and i love them all ^^

SammyJ3996d ago

Actually Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube is said to be the best selling Tales game. VGChartz has it at 1.1m units world wide.

Inception3996d ago

@Sammy
I don't trust VGchartz. But i just looked to the old namdai pdf for Tales of sales, maybe you right if Symphonia as the best selling tales game
http://www.bandainamcogames...
Well, Symphonia are multiplat for GC & PS2 and thx for the correction anyway ^^

Baka-akaB3996d ago

Wow someone is getting antsy over not agreeing for a multiplatform game . FYI guys i'm talking about Japan here . Of course if you target the west multiplatform could be viable , but the west is always an afterthought when it comes to namco and tales of .

The Tales Of series are some of the best RPGs I've ever played, and the characters are a big reason for that. I don't think I played a single game in the series that I didn't enjoy. Rest in peace.

Snookies1232d ago (Edited 32d ago )

Damn, that sucks to hear... His designs were always wonderful.

H932d ago

RIP, sheade some great designs, man it's one after the other this year

FinalFantasyFanatic31d ago

We're 3 months into the year and I feel like we're taking nothing but L's.

autobotdan32d ago

Wow she was the character designer for Tales of Destiny one of my favorites of all time =(

scorpio_204932d ago

I love the Tales games. Phantasia will always be my favorite. Ironically I felt like as the series progressed the character design became too “anime cliche.”

Soulcalibur 5 will be delisted next week on PS3 and Xbox 360

Soulcalibur official Twitter: "Valiant Warriors - Soul Calibur V is taking its final curtain call on the stage of history and will be sunset on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 19, 2023. The base game and all associated DLC will no longer be available for purchase. Thank you for your continued support."

-Mika-312d ago

This is why guest characters shouldn't be on the base roster. Im sure Ezio and the whole Assassin's Creed stuff license expired and that is why it is being removed. The same thing is probably going to happen to Soul Calibur 6 in 10 years.

Terry_B312d ago

I doubt a lot of people still played the worst SC game over 10 years after its release on dead consoles.

blackblades312d ago

Right whoever wanted the game would've had it by now. Also physical is usually the better option

gold_drake312d ago

damn.

alot of games have been delisted recently.

Nyxus312d ago

Meanwhile several big games are going digital only. Good omen for the future...

MadLad312d ago

I've been mainly gaming on PC for 12 years now. I don't think there was ever a game that was actually taken away from me.
Even the multiplayer-focused games, with their servers typically being taken down, you can still host your own.

Not sure why People are so against digital. You still need online infrastructure just to update your games or to patch them. You're stuck to online/digital one way or another.

Nyxus312d ago

Most games play just fine without an internet connection. There are also other reason aside from preservation, digital games are often more expensive (at least the one I'm buying) than what you can find through deals in stores. But most of all I just like to be able to actually own the games as physical objects, being able to lend them out etc. And be assured that I can still play them in the future. Sure you can probably emulate them, but I prefer to play on console and I'd rather play an actual copy than an emulation anyway.

I'm not against digital in itself, I just don't want to be forced to go digital because the physical option is taken away. Just give people the option to either get it physically or digitally, that way everyone is happy and it's also the best way to preserve games for the future.

CrimsonWing69312d ago

Make your peace with it. It’s the direction the industry is going in.

XiNatsuDragnel312d ago

Well industry is pretty much dead in that case.

lucian229312d ago

Can we please get soul cal 7 a year after tekken 8?

darthv72312d ago

Good thing I have both on disc.

Did Tales of Xillia Write a Smarter Thanos?

There's a surprising amount of overlap between Marvel's Mad Titan and a lesser-known Tales villains -- but which is the better baddie?
