A new patch is set to be released for Dark Souls on PS3 and will bring the game to version 1.09.

The 1.09 patch is extremely specific and exclusive to the PS3. It intends to fix issues with flickering in the game that have plagued users.

Thank goodness, what an annoyance that was.

Arg, no new patch yet. Misleading title.

Can't wait to hop on and see the results.

I just checked. It's still not patched.

"A new patch is *set* to be released for Dark Souls on PS3 and will bring the game to version 1.09."

The title is misleading.

I had to admit defeat and tap out of Dark souls at that big crystal cave with the invisible bridges. I tried a few times to clear that thing and failed horribly, at this time I'm afraid to even look at the case sitting on my shelf. Great game but I won't be diving back in until there's a patch to let me fly and give me quickly regenerating health.

Get back in there and be a real man!

The trick to the Crystal Cave is that you'll see snowflakes falling from the ceiling, and they'll stop when they hit the bridges. You can also keep throwing Prism Stones. Once you get past the two invisible bridges it's a short walk to one of the easiest bosses in Dark Souls, Seath is a pushover.

Thanks for the help, folks. I might give it another shot tonight after a few hearty swigs of whiskey for courage.

Navigating is the easy part, just wait until you make it across and encounter the giant clamshell monsters and Seath The Scaleless. If you're having a lot of trouble getting across, you're in for a world of hurt when you get there. This is a brutal game and you really have to want it, otherwise you will fail.

i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)

I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
