Not surprising at all. I know Sly Cooper 4 runs at 30fps on the Vita instead of the 60 of the PS3. They're ports made in an afterthought after all.

Who would have thoght that a portable gaming devices have less horsepower than a stationary console, right?
I bought a Sly 4 just for Vita and DKCR is tempting me to buy a 3DS. Love them good platform games on the go.

OMG!!! What a turd of a game! Blowing up the screen, slowing down the video and attempting to check the difference frame by frame shows there to be less fluidity on the hand held port! Who would have thought??? /s

Good grief. If there's really anyone who thinks less of this 3DS game because of this difference, then I don't see how gaming is even any fun to you anymore...

I really tend to like games running at 60fps, especially when they're ones that require even the smallest amount of twitchy skill to them. That's why I'll take Devil May Cry 3 over the new DmC any day, for example. Call it a bias I developed from starting out on NES and SNES, where most games ran at 60... obviously not Star Fox.

However, Super Mario 3D Land recently proved me wrong about my preferences. The design trumped the framerate, I hardly cared. But that was an original game on the 3DS - I don't really take the 3DS on the go with me much, I play it where I am because there are some really freaking good games for it.

So, I've got an even choice between Wii and 3DS for this one- and given the choice here, I'd probably pick the Wii version. Screw waggle controls, but there's worse going on here than just framerate issues. The port looks devoid of color when you put these side by side.

Actually, the best solution would be to Dolphin it up in HD.

Uh... not sure what I expected.

Donkey Kong Country Returns: A triumphant return indeed

As the first game to be released in the DKC series in 11 years, fans of Donkey Kong were eager to see how the iconic ape’s adventures continued. And when it was finally released, the game proved well worth the wait. With incredible level design, difficult yet fun platforming gameplay, vibrant presentation and an amazing soundtrack, “Donkey Kong Country Returns” is an amazing side-scrolling platformer and an incredible comeback for one of Nintendo’s oldest mascots.

Tropical Freeze is way better than Country Returns and Dixie's whatever it's called. It's easily in top 3 DK games.

It did not place them in order, despite the article being described as a top ten.

Donkey Kong (94) is my preferred game on that list. I think the Rare Country games are pretty rough.

My first reaction was... They made 10 Donkey Kong games?! Then I thought that must be every single one... then I checked the list and Donkey Kong 64 is not even on it. No wonder Nintendo won't make more 3D Donkey Kong. I really enjoyed tropical freeze but I am still waiting for the next 3D game. Its really the only thing I want from the series at this point. Also, I can't take Jungle beat seriously...

The Nintendo 3DS Is Still Totally Worth It Ten Years Later

Half-Glass Gaming: "Production of the 3DS has been discontinued as of September of 2020, but there’s definitely an argument to be made for adopting the system in 2021, especially if you just really like playing awesome video games."
